Ideal Threshold for Bathroom - Light Wood Floors + Dark Floor Tile?

Zach
last year

Please don’t recommend tearing out tile and starting over or anyhing else that’s expensive - that won’t help. *See Questions Below*

Our tile designer suggested a wood floor threshold for the bathroom entry, which others have said is a bad idea.

Our home is MCM-ISH, but still our own style. This is not a restoration, it’s a remodel.

Question:

1) What is the ideal bathroom threshold?

2) Any ideas for what we should do for the shower curb (floor tile or shower wall tile with schlueter or something different)?

The large (12x24) slate looking tile is staggered and in both the master/hallway bathrooms.

- The master shower has matching mosaic floor tile + modern horizontal line tile for the shower walls (not waves, but similar). Vanity is wood, with white ceramic top. Backsplash will match with shower wall.

- The family/hallway bathroom has a bathtub and 2x8 matte tiles stacked vertical, but each row is shifted 50% over. Vanity is wood, with white ceramic top. Backsplash/Sidesplash will match vanity top.
