What is this grassy weed

What is this grass growing in my lawn and how do I get rid of it? It seems to be growing g in patches and when you pull it it seems to be trailing growing at the surface. It also seems to die off around this time of year turning brown but it always comes back.

Where do you live, and what kind of grass do you have? Zone 7 is too general to help with your climate and soil type.

Sounds like annual bluegrass. The only way to get rid of it is to prevent it or wait for it to die in the heat. Apply preemergent in the fall. This will prevent germination and its emergence in the spring.

Looks like Dallas grass to me. k You will need to dig it out, it will come back every year if you leave it.

The first picture looks more like stiltgrass, but it's hard to tell. Closer pictures would help in identifying it. Are the stems triangular? If so, it's probably yellow nutsedge. You can pull it out by hand or, if you want to use chemicals, there are products like Sedgehammer which purport to kill it.

Delaware , I know there is tall fescue because that's what I have been seeding with , not sure what
