Wondering what kind of coffeetable or ottoman would fit in this space. It’s our small living room. Has to be child safe. Thanks!!
Get an ottoman with castors and storage for those small toys to be put away easily. The castors will be great when you need more floor space for playing.
We went w/o one for years while our three were little. Small spaces and TONS of kid stuff =no room. But if you must in today's world its much easier as these large round completely upholstered soft sided 'tables' are all the rage.
This lovely rattan coffee table or one comparable will add style and function to your space with no sharp corners. You can treat the rattan with a seal to repell water too.
Modern/Contemporary H&M furniture choices
Ottoman and coffee table...
A, B, or C on sofa/ottoman fabrics
Your help, please, with last few choices to finish living/dining area?
I need to see the room toadvise so take a nother pic showing at least where you need the coffee table BTW mirrors are best when they reflect something worth seeing twice is your ceiling that item if not then get a nice piece of art above the FP and find a different home for the mirror
Annie Selke has great ottomans that are upholstered in her rugs - there are several size options, we have 2 and love them
Suggest searching kid friendly coffee tables on Pinterest, for lots of examples. Shape/size/style and practicality are all considerations. (My son has a table with corners and they just purchased/added rubber safety corners as an fyi).
Because mirror was mentioned, a lightweight canvas piece of art is good...I see one. Can we see it, and what other colors you might consider for 'table'?
There are two love seats facing each other if that makes sense
Hope this helps
See what you think about moving in the seating by the window.
Add a console table behind and if needed, move floor lamp to other side of room.
Then decide on the coffee table, but I could see an ottoman and with seating closer, it will be more accessible and room will feel better balanced.
^love the casters idea!
A coffee table should be 12-18" from the sofas to be useful. IMO, leggy sofas should be entirely on the rug. If you can pull them closer and onto the rug, you may get by with only one coffee table. Otherwise, you may need two skinny ones so each table has their own. Here's a beautiful round one with storage for toys. You may want to consider more "C" tables. I see you have one already. They provide a spot for coffee, device, etc but don't take much space.
I'd do this round velvet tucked ottoman. in this beautiful french blue shade
bring in a few blue and white pillows, and a nice white throw for the sofa
or go w/something like this if you want a fabric
You could also choose a leather option.
Rattan round coffee table is another suggestion. notice the pillow arrangement
small round wood table:
Wow I just wanted to say thank you all for these ideas!!!!
I would get a couple of smaller upholstered ottomans (easy to move for play!).
With the softness of mantel and rug... nice 'accent' in Beth's ultra-tufted ones and in a color!
Beth where is the first round blue ottoman from? And those pilllows?
It's Beth's... but I'll post storage....hope ok.
in several colors -- 36.4" x 25" x 17", Storage: 30.5 x 18.7 x 12.2
I would choose something similar to one of these while the children are young. They are soft, offer storage, and are easy to keep clean.
2 or 3 total, even mixing colors is a casual vibe ?
The cow made me laugh!
Pillows were from a generic pillow picture.
if you google "tufted blue velvet ottoman" you'll get a lot of hits. watch out for the really cheap looking ones.
I think this is the one I used in the pic
I think the one we ordered is a bit too big??
Have you moved furniture back a bit?
Beth's says 36" wide.
you didn't measure you space? move the one sofa back a foot.
you didn't like the lighter blue option? I picked it because of the lighter tones in your room and your art.
Loved the lighter tones. This was an online ordering mishap!
In the meanwhile (while I look for a better ottoman)I will probably go w suggested theme of a light blue accents for the room and look for a tasseled throw to o over the ottoman and get blue and white pillows as suggested.
pretty. are hanging that small blue picture over that plant? nice spot for it.
In the picture, your wall color almost looks light blue on the left! it would be a pretty color for the room.
OR, what you could do is paint the ceiling in the tray the softest of blue. I think that would be better. especially if you get the light blue ottoman
