Blueberries are ideal for containers.. They need acidic soil, which is perfect environment to make in a container.. Get varieties that pollinate eachother... Grapes - need trellis, vines.. From my understanding, you can get the vine as short as 3-5 foot or as long as 20 ft... Rasp/blackberry - a trellis would contain thm very nice, a heavy layer of mulch would do great, and just mow over the extra runner.. With a trellis you can keep them contained to a small, certain space... $2.50 for a plant, good deal.. But a few of each.. And if anything, sell them for $5 bucks... Or better yet, take multiple cuttin and sell each cutting for a few bucks.. There's always money to be made, if your creative.. Joe

Aimeekitty, we have the same temps. I am in South coastal Texas. Usually if we have below 32 degrees, it just for 6 minutes. This past winter was diffrent it went down to 26 degrees for over 4 hours. Then 31 degrees for 9 hours. I lost so many plants I had since 1995. I am starting over, and I think I am doing a much better job of selecting plants this time around. They only brugs that survived were the ones that were on the East side next to the house. I'm still not sure which ones survived, I did not have them labeled. Its been fun starting over, I can't wait to see my first blooms. Since our summers are so hot, my best blooming time is in October. I still have blooms in December. Just think, you can post pictures of your blooms to cheer up folks that are snowed in. Barbra

i see one flower, bottom left arrow the rest look like leaves to me. its real hard to tell until they are large enough to see the difference. Male usually hangs down from a stem. females have a wider bud. Herm's look like females, but , sometimes a bit more narrow Mangodog is on spot about them hating cold-wet feet too. will quickly kill them. I use chicken poo. its high in nitrogen sometimes i use a high N fertilizer with micronutes they respond real good to both. - Mangodog are you sure that is a TR Hovey ? The fruit is hanging down on stems which means it was a male flower. (supposedly) and now a male fruit.
