Chocolate Brown Couch....
Comments (0)My husband & I custom ordered a chocolate brown microsuade sectional for our narrow living room, I'm now wondering what color/finish end tables/coffee table/tv stand I should go with? The room was just painted "Distant Tan" by Behr, it has white trim & "classic red oak" pergo flooring, along with satin nickle hardware. I was going to go with this coffee table since it's such a tight space, I can't find much to choose from: http://www.coffeetablesandendtables.com/Winsome-Concord-Round-Coffee-Table-94231.htm Then I got to thinking how the heck will I match a TV stand to that exactly? And then I was wondering if I could just get a white tv stand or if it would look funny. Then, digging my hole even deeper I started to wonder if the dark wood of the tables would look bad next to the choclate brown sofa. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated, the room is almost done & we need to purchase these things soon. Thanks!...See MoreWhat have you paired up with your chocolate/brown walls?
Comments (4)Oh, this is hard to describe. The Italian Leather has more of a taupe gray undertone. The dining room has more of a chocolate brown/deep purple undertone? Not sure if that's right. I would get paint chips of each and compare them. I went with the IL because it was on the same paint strip as the other color in the kitchen/family room. But it didn't look odd being next to the dining room. Here is how I picked the color in the dining room...I walked into the BM store and said, I'm looking for a color that looks like dark chocolate.....this is what the gal showed me, I bought it without testing it. lol. (And yes, it took 29 cans of gray sample paint to settle on the foyer color!)...See MoreWhat paint goes with Beige/Browns
Comments (7)If you had a 'jumping-off-point' such as a patterned fabric, rug, or even a piece of art it might be easier for you to choose a color. Really almost any color goes with brown tones. I have a lot of brown in my home and have used red, sage green, pale yellow, gold, lime green, blue, cream, dusty rose, for walls and/or accents at various times. All shades of turquoise from pale robin's egg blue to teal work well with browns. I've seen some amazing rooms using pale pink with browns. Choose one of your favorite colors and get some paint chips and go from there. Comments (10)the floor plan is to scale for your room, sofa and (from web) a baby grand piano. Without other measurements of the two openings, it’s just a guesstimate. I see the rug as the biggest problem. I like it, understand why you want to keep it, but it just doesn’t fit properly in that space. I see other seating behind the French doors. Could you use the rug there? Two sofas will not work. The piano must be kept away from the windows. I was able to get two swivel chairs into a seating arrangement with the leather sofa and the (great) coffee table. I put a wing chair in the other corner. As you can see, I just couldn’t fit another sofa into the room. The rug…if it were centered on the fireplace and windows, would all legs of the piano be on it? If you give me the rug measurements, I will put it into the floor plan. As for swivel chairs which would look good with the sofa, I think these, from Target (good reviews) would work nicely. With all the big pieces in the room, don’t do smalls. Get a large oil painting (or good repro canvas) in deep colors. Not quite the sofa tone…just a place holder....See MoreEco chic
