Replacing Oil Furnace with Something More Efficient/Eco-Friendly?

Maggie M
last year

I live in New England in a house built in the 1980s with an oil furnace system with baseboard heating on the first floor and basement. Our first floor and second floor also have a high-velocity system that does both heat and cool those floors.

When I'm ready to replace the oil furnace and baseboard heaters, what are my options that might take a fossil fuel out of my home?

I'm not super keen on having the big oil tank in the garage.

Has anyone replaced their oil furnace in the Northeast? What was your experience?
