Bidet Toilet Attachment - Changes Needed Due to Bad Back
Comments (10)The Jasmine is the same model as the S300. I don't know the reason for the different names. That's probably a good price. When I bought mine nearly 3 years ago, I was told ther was fixing to be a price increase. cindaloutx, check out these videos at Toto.com. Maybe it will answer your questions. Does the retractable wand ever need cleaning? Yes, occassionally and is easily done with a soft cloth. Trying not to reveal TMI (too much information) but I just suffered thru bad stomach virus this weekend. My Washlet made made all the difference in the world :) springvillegardens, here is a photo of where I have my remote installed. No reach for it. With my back issues, I don't know what I'd do without my Washlet, not to mention how much cleaner and fresher it makes you feel. You have a choice of two rear washes, one a forceful steam and the other not as forceful and covers more area. Both are adjustable as is the water temp and seat temp. One front wash. Adjustable as well. Dryer has three temps. Also a deoderizer that automatically goes off 1 minutes after you get up. Or you can turn it on as needed. There is a power saver option. I have mine set for the features to be "on" from 9am to 12 midnight. I would hate to have to choose which bathroom feature is my favorite, the Washlet or airtub. Both make my life much more comfortable. About half way down You'll see the video links. Monica Here is a link that might be useful: Toto Washlet Videos...See Morehow bad are black toilets?
Comments (11)thanks for the encouragement lesleyintn and karena. To answer you questions Karena...there is some natural light. There will be a narrow (about 10") tall (about 36") nonfunctioning window to let some light in. And I don't think there will be any "countertop" per se on the vanity. The space for the sink is teeny, tiny, because of jogs in the wall where the old brick row house joins the new wood framed extension . So it's going to end up being only about 18" wide and 20" deep. I'm having a small arts and crafts oak table made to fit the spot...sort of like an end table or night table--four legs, a small shelf at the bottom and a sort of apron to cover the sink plumbing. And the sink is only 12" in diameter. Faucets will be wall mounted or on a narrow raised deck at the back of the table. Since there is so little of the top, I'm inclined to leave it wood, using waterlox or a really strong, oldfashioned beeswax finish on it to protect it. But if I panic about water damage, I'll probably use a bit of soapstone. The room won't be light and bright, but I think it will have a warm glow....See MoreHanging shelves but toilet off centered
Comments (13)Thanks for all the feedback! I totally love this site. Everyone is so helpful and honest on every forum. I got so many compliments from my last home from the feedback for this site. I'm not a professional at all on decorating, but I want my home to look beautiful. LongTime--I don't hate you I appreciate honest feedback. Keep it coming. I am trying to use items I already had to decorate. As a SAHM and homeschooling, buying all new everything isn't an option right now. I'm thankful that we got a bigger home and I didn't have to go back to work. I know the shelves are small but I was thinking they could work on this wall since it was small too. I wonder if I could could stagger them; putting one closer to the wall on left and other closer to wall on right. I hate that towel ring but I didn't want to have a patched hole for Thanksgiving. I am going to put a towel there for guests. I was considering one of those ladder shelves to put to the left of the towel ring. What do you think about that? I do plan to paint this bathroom, it is blahhh to me. However, I have two other paint projects going on right now that must be complete by the time guests arrive on Wednesday. If I put a picture to the left of the towel ring and scratch the shelves, do I need something on the left wall where the door is or just leave that blank? With this house, I'm going for a coastal cottage feel. Please thank my lovely assistant....See MoreSo moving if toilet is out of the equation...off center toilet???
Comments (9)Ok..not sure if Google has led me down the right path but here is what I found according to IRC (International Residential Code) sec. 2705 http://archive.org/stream/gov.law.icc.irc.2012/icc.irc.2012_djvu.txt "SECTION P2705 INSTALLATION 5. Water closets, lavatories and bidets. A water closet, lavatory or bidet shall not be set closer than 15 inches (381 mm) from its center to any side wall, partition or vanity or closer than 30 inches (762 mm) center-to-cen- ter between adjacent fixtures. There shall be a clearance of not less than 21 inches (533 mm) in front of a water closet, lavatory or bidet to any wall, fixture or door." It doesn't say anything about the two sides being equal, just that they need to be a minimum of 15" from center, or 30" total center to center. Now you may tell me it will look horrible, that's another story, but I am not sure if I am following why it isn't to code. Here is a picture I found online of an off center toilet. It is a toilet stall, and I think it is closer to walls/partitions than we would be...but it was all I could find. I don't think it looks terribly bad and to be honest I think ours will be less noticeable since the wall to the left will be a glass wall to the floor...so it will feel more open.
