Need new living room furniture...would love suggestions!
Comments (15)@decoenthusiaste I really like the idea of leather and darker, but already at 2:39pm November 21 the sun is low on the horizon and on December 21 it will be even darker. In the summer months this room is filled with sun and light from 6am to 11:30pm, so the darker leather would warm the room up. In the winter months the amount of light is only a few hours, so I'm thinking even though the view is incredible, the limited amount of daylight makes for a darker room and dark leather might reduce reflection more? Comments (4)I don't know why but I remembered this saying by somebody: "When in doubt, go with chartreuse" ))) Cream would work..if leather-tan would look nice.. If you like colors of autumn-chances are you'll continue to like them..look for inspiration pictures with similar colors..can be very helpful to figure out the pallette. Even if you repaint-chances are you ll still go for something warm and enveloping..so whatever you pick in furniture would still work against different background. If you're not sure that's another thing. But most people have the general direction towards which they lean..preference for warmer colors(or rather shades) vs cooler..cleaner vs muddier..you can like all of them of course but say use the ones you lean to less as accents. Congratulations on your new house! seems a very comfortable one....See MoreWhat would be the best furniture layout in this living room?
Comments (35)I really like Flo's layout for your room. It was the same as I was thinking. It makes sense to take advantage of as much of the floor space as you have available. In a narrow room, having the TV over the fireplace makes it difficult for viewing. Better to take advantage of the empty wall space you have to put it at a comfortable height. Comments (1)You'll get the best help if you can please provide us with a hand drawn floor plan and measurements. Please label where the living room and dining room is on the floor plan. A couch and chairs are easier to decorate than a sectional. Bland is not bad - it gives you a lot of options - it doesn't limit you. If you want to pick out your style, put in top HOUZZ search box (one at a time) different styles. Here are just a few - transitional, modern, traditional, eclectic, casual. Regarding your mirror - just keep in mind that mirrors are best when they have an interesting reflection....See MoreRelated Professionals
