Need new arm chairs in living room-what color would be best?
We are updating the furniture in our mountain cabin. The turquoise leather sectional with cowhide brindle is the centerpeice. The 2 armchairs need to be repalced. They are currently on a cowhide rug and I'd love to keep the dark brown leather ottomons because they wear well and are comfy. I love the large throw pillows which tie in the blue sofa. Any suggestions on what color arm chairs? Considered a muted ruby red but might be too many colors? I do have reddish orange accent pieces in my kitchen. Please help!

Comments (15)The accent chest was not my decision lol. Some posters on here suggested similar console under art like you are but she don’t like it. The console under TV was a custom made piece of cabinetry along with floating shelfs and stained onsite. Thank you! Attached is ottoman we are thinking of getting. There’s also a beige one. Comments (4)I don't know why but I remembered this saying by somebody: "When in doubt, go with chartreuse" ))) Cream would work..if leather-tan would look nice.. If you like colors of autumn-chances are you'll continue to like them..look for inspiration pictures with similar colors..can be very helpful to figure out the pallette. Even if you repaint-chances are you ll still go for something warm and enveloping..so whatever you pick in furniture would still work against different background. If you're not sure that's another thing. But most people have the general direction towards which they lean..preference for warmer colors(or rather shades) vs cooler..cleaner vs muddier..you can like all of them of course but say use the ones you lean to less as accents. last yearlast modified: last yearWith keeping ottomans, I’d be looking to complement them as a priority. Just add great cushions (Kilims would be perfect) and when tastes change, are easy to update. I think vibrant cushions and your two tone couch are enough.
Make sure you want to live long term with turquoise cabinets and search kitchens to be sure. Another option is on bottom only, depending on your kitchen.
There are other ways to incorporate also with a backsplash, lighting, pottery, runner, etc. Again, thinking about longevity as it‘s a big commitment.
