Where can I find interior windows?

I have a bedroom loft that overlooks my living room and I’m putting up a wall and hopefully two interior windows. I contacted a glass company about making the entire wall out of glass. The quote was over 20k so I’m scaling it down. I’m building the wall myself and I want to do 2 window inserts. Where would I find interior windows like this (something pre-fab or inexpensive)?

Glass company would have an interior storefront frame or you use drywall or wood and 1/2" x 1/2" aluminum stops.

If you are building something low to the floor as well as that high you will need safety glass, preferably laminated. Ordinary glass in that application will potentially very dangerous.

If you are doing it yourself then consider using polycarbonate rather than glass. It's much lighter and easier to work with for a DIY project like that

As far as purchasing this type of door with the frosted glass it will not be an off the shelf item. It would be considered a special order and I would personally recommend finding a local lumberyard or millwork supply house to order it from and not a box type store (HD or Lowes, etc.) And as Renovator mentioned Simpson is one of the better brands, Jeldwen, Roque Valley and Lemieux would be some of the others

There are many different balances for windows. You need to know exactly which mechanism your window has. If you know which window manufacturer you have, the rest is pretty easy. Do you know this? If not do the following: The first thing you need to do is to remove the broken balance. If you can do that, you can probably fix the window. If you can't figure out how to remove the broken balance, call someone to fix the unit. Once you have it out, do a search on the internet or the local Yellow Pages for window balances or replacement parts. Local sources will just need you to bring the broken one down to match it. With the internet, you will need to match a picture or speak to a rep at the company. Buy two at a time. You should replace both balances on the sash at the same time. Ron

Do you mean the actual storage boxes or the cubes? The boxes are available at places like the Container Store or Storables and often at office supply stores and places like Home Goods, but with less of a selection. Cube storage systems are available just about anywhere!!

I'd bet that the doors in the pictures are custom. Find a carpenter/workshop in your area that specializes in doors and windows and talk to them. Or get extremely lucky and find the exact size and style of doors you need at a salvage yard.

You can buy a replacement glass panel for a patio door. Because it's a common item the price will be very reasonable. $200 or so. That will meet safety requirements. All you have to do is frame it. Like a picture. Then install it. Trim it out. DIY it'll cost you very little. Even if you have a woodworking shop make the frames. Even if you get creative and have a picture framing shop make the frames out of the hundreds of options they'll have. Or you can make the frames and custom paint and decorate them as art.

Does that space have windows to the exterior that you will need to match to make this look planned?

If there are no windows, you cannot build a wall and turn this into a bedroom. Bedrooms have very specific code requirements for emergency escape and egress windows. Among other safety requirements on the list.
