Hi, I just went to a new kitchen/bath showroom in downtown Chicago. It is beautiful. They have a lot of bathroom vanities, toilets on display, a few tubs, faucets, and accesories. It is owned by the same man who owns Chicago Kitchen and Bath. It is called hydrology. It is at 435 N. Lasalle. The man I spoke to is the owner named David Kotowsky. If you go see him tell him you saw this on GW. The prices are good too. You can ask for a contractors discount if you are using one. check it out, Donna

Hello! I'm really tight for space with my vanity - the vanity is 32" wide (33" with counter) and will be centered in an area between a wall and the toilet - area is approx 39" wide at it's widest. How can I put a mirror above the vanity and allow for side lights? Some of the side lights that I have found are only 5" wide and I can do a mirror that is 22-24" wide... Will this work? Thanks everyone - I'm going crazy trying to figure this out...

I know I've learned so much just reading through both the good and the bad threads. In fact I went by one of the builder's spec houses a few weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon. The door was open so I went in. (I have permission from the builder to go into any of his builds, no matter what state it's in.) I went upstairs and there were two tile people tiling the upstairs shower. Only problem was there was no waterproofing on the durarock. I asked the tile guys and they said, "that's what their boss told them to do." I reported it to our builder. The tile was torn out last week and they're redoing it. Our builder thanked me for letting him know since that's not how they build. As the builder's designer said to me, "We're building expensive, luxury homes. That is just not acceptable and those guys will not be tiling our homes again." And I had learned about proper waterproofing here on this forum and seeing pics of what happens when things are not done correctly.

thisisnotadrill, thank you for your response. Are you asking me to stop the tile before the toilet? I’m confused b/c I think your pictures shows the tile continuing behind the toilet. yes, our toilet goes where the brown box lies.
