Window treatment ideas needed for son's arched window?
Comments (2)I would make a cornice out of foam insulation board or plywood in the arch shape. I'd paint it to look like a road with a double white line in the center and attach something car-related--red brake lights for example along the arch and hang curtains as daisyadair has described....See MoreWindow Input-asymmetrical window need some ideas!

Comments (5)Not sure if they'd dive at their own reflection. Since you already have a problem with the birds, you might consider hanging lattice outside the window instead of or in addition to the reflective coating. That lattice alone could help with the sunlight issue and likely visually meld better with the natural world. Another idea for the bird issue might be to also add a treated wood perch the width of the window beneath it on the outside with spacers to hold it several inches away from the house so birds would be more inclined to land on that wood perch first rather than go through the window. You could also hang wind chimes and sun catchers from that wood rod....See Moreneed creative lighting idea for challenging-to-light photo wall
Comments (14)Thanks, all. Paul... regarding pitch, usually you'd take an adjustable recessed light on a pitched ceiling and point it straight down. In this case, the light has to be tilted even further to then target the wall, if that makes sense. I like the idea of the mud-in channel light, and might use that elsewhere. In this particular location, the left half of the wall is 7'-9" high and the right side is 11' high, so I couldn't have a continuous chanel in the ceiling. Thanks for the thoughts. Kendrah... I like the idea, and your space. I'm coming to the conclusion quite quickly that the wall mounting approach may be my only alternative to a ceiling mounted along the centerline, back near the chimney. Do you know who makes the long-strip wall mounted lights that are installed in your home? Jan, this will be a combination of some photos in frames, and others without, perhaps even magneted to the walls. Unfortunately, without additional lighting, this will be an area that has not much ambient lighting from area lighting. What do you mean by side channels?...See Morebbstx
