I wish it was a Happy Valentine's Day for me...
Comments (46)Sorry that the day didn't end better for you. I'm in Silicon Valley--San Jose, where lots of people work long hours. My dh worked longer hours and traveled a lot when my kids were younger; I would be extremely disappointed when he came home from a trip because instead of throwing the kids at him and heading out for sanity, he had to sleep and I had to keep the kids a little quiet. I think the girls got used to that, but then again they had each other and me to drive crazy. May I ask, are you from India? If you are not, you and I are not very common. In 26 years of marriage, I've only met two or three other couples with the same backgrounds as we. It surprises me, in this day and age, especially in the big melting pot where we live. Were you able to tell your dh how disappointed you were?...See MoreDo you like ginger? I mean really, really like ginger?
Comments (42)I absolutely love ginger, but I wasn't able to post to this before. I also love ginger flowers and have several types of ginger in my yard now. The blue ginger is blooming right now (see link below), but I also have red and white gingers, none of which are edible, but some of the flowers have very nice fragrances that are quite unique. As for edible ginger, I keep a jar of ginger paste (from an Indian market) that I use in soups, marinades, and stir fries, but not desserts. For desserts, I use ginger that I keep in the freezer. I should probably grow edible ginger. I bought ginger snaps at TJ's last week-end (along with some other more decadent cookies), but I think I should have made them myself. They were good but not quite gingery enough. I don't have any dried ginger. Lars Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreOh happy day! (Really and truly!) :) x 100
Comments (17)Thanks for the kind words. This was a toughie for me, and I really struggled with it. The mathematical equations for this stuff are mind-numbing, so I just memorized all the math answers. The answer to the first question is: 14 degrees with the voltage lagging the current. The answer to the second question is 240 ohms at an angle of 36.9. The third is "Reactance modulator on the oscillator." And there are 738 of these jewels in the question pool. Crazy making, but I never have to think about these questions again. I have no intention of building my own ham radio, so these questions are really a moot point. Comments (12)Three gorgeous and very different plants/blooms - don't grow any of them but I wish I did! I know what you mean about discovering the secret to growing your Ann - sometimes it is all luck to stumble on exactly what our plant needs to do its best. Sure wish they could talk! ;-)...See Morerouge21_gw (CDN Z5b/6a)
