Remodeling Kitchens dining room

Need help with dinning space

We are working on a kitchen/dining room remodel our space to work with is very weird.(old house)We are a family of 7 currently with a table that seats 6. A bench would maximize our space and gain us more seating. Considering a bench off the peninsula, as well as a bench under the window, also considering only a bench under the window. Look at the photos below and tell me what you think is my best option. Problems to consider are I’d like my table to look as centered to the window as possible

I think it would be fine to change the sand color to Olive Branch. If it's too much, it might be nice to select a lighter, color and consider making the paneling area above the fireplace this color. I agree the scale of the pictures is too small. I think it would be nice to anchor the dining area with a large painting. The bigger the better to fill some wall space. Right now, the furniture seems to be arbitrarily placed throughout the room so I think you should rethink the floor plan. I would place the sofas on either side of the fireplace. I would move the tv to the small wall and hope that it sits below the wall and doesn't stick out. Right now, it's fighting the natural focal point of the fireplace. Now, the concept of Spanish/ Mediterranean. When you continue this space, think heavy, think furniture. Contrast is important in this style so consider black wrought iron details, perhaps a wrought iron chandelier for over the dining table and some sconces for the living area. It might be nice to consider tapestries for the area. When I suggested a lighter color earlier, it might be appropriate to think a tan or an orangish hue that is found throughout this style.

Hello, I just moved in to a new place and I am decorating it. Currently debating whether a round or long table would work better for the space. I am thinking a round table will be too small (38") or too big (60) I'm going back and forth because I feel like the round table would brake things up.I have too man L shapes like my couch and L shape kitchen. I am also thinking a long table would be too much for the space? I need help please. I want to make it look not crowded. The are measures 127" long by 84" wide. Its the area in from of the mirrored doors. Any ideas please

Your note to me said the “pedestals” are coral…as in real deal coral? Just trying to work with the pieces for you, as the pairing of the chairs and the coral shape are at odds. .Let’s say you used a fabric like this and painted the chairs either black or white, in a high gloss finish. Okay, not a bad combo, but the problem is now the chairs and table do not go in your dining room…everything would have to change…wall color, wall decor (not a huge problem there) and chandelier and a rug. Would the dining room then work with the rest of the house? IMO, the chairs are great…solid, quality and you can still paint them for your room. You can even keep the glass top, but the coral would have to go. It could be replaced with Chippendale base, in the style of this rattan one: eBay for $99.00! Ignore this one below…I can’t cut it out of post.

Hello need help picking colors . Have open living room dinning room

I’m trying to get a color to go with the gray couches . Not sure the light gray at bottom of pic or the darker gray at top of same pic. Putting in a dark gray rug . Theirs a red accent wall thinking of paint the dark teal at bottom of other photo. Not sure to paint entrance with dark gray and the living room with light gray or opposite way . Any help would be appreciated thanks .

I would seriously consider axing the peninsula, to increase circulation around the table. If you feel that's really critical, then do a bench against the window only. That way the people packed onto the bench can get off from either end. And you can remove the end seats when you need to have dining-side access to the peninsula for serving.

Consider using a fairly wide table, so you can seat two people at the shorter ends, and place fewer people on the bench. Hard to say without dimensions, but it also looks like you could have more comfortable seating and circulation by rotating the table 90 degrees. What are the traffic paths--what rooms connect to each doorway there?

Definitely not option two because you loose any advantage of having a peninsula. I like how your bench extends along the wall, so no one feels like they're going to be pushed off the edge.

Another strike against option2: I was youngest in my family, so I was always the one trapped in the corner or squooze into the tightest spot. I would hate sitting in that corner.

Thanks for your input! The table cannot be rotated 90 degrees because it will block the door to the outside(you can see the door in the last photo) it’s a tricky space! I’m definitely not going to do the seating off the peninsula maybe just the built in bench off the back. Another option would be to not do a built in bench at all and just use a dinning bench on that side that isn’t permanent🤷🏼‍♀️
