Name That Plant!

Tree or shrub?

Photos to be posted in comments (Houzz quirk won't let me post otherwise).

About half a dozen popped up a couple months ago among the municipal vegetation. They grow very fast, already reaching 4 to 5 feet. They were not planted by the municipality. I'm in Israel, inner coastal plain, midsummer, temps in the upper nineties/lower hundred. Would love an ID. Thanks!

Jordan, you got it right! it's Leucaena leucocephala. I checked it on this site (the best in Hebrew)

This plant is defined as "invasive" - not surprisingly seeing how it thrives when all municipal plants languish for lack of water. Thank you!

I'm wanting to plant a small tree or tree-like shrub in my small patio/yard. I was originally interested in a Snow Fountain/Weeping Cherry, but a short call to Marcum's revealed that Cherry trees don't typically do very well in Oklahoma. Does anyone have any recommendations for me? I'm looking for something 10' or smaller, dry to average soil, sun/partial shade. I have Yuccas and Hostas and hate Crape Myrtles. Any guidance is welcome! Thanks!

yes! i think it's a match! tell if i am being picky..the only difference from pics that is see is that on 'my plant' flower/fruit clusters are not round, but elongated. and the central vein on the leaves is almost invisible, but on canella it is quite well defined. may be just variations?

You have two different trees there. My guess is Albizia julibrissin for the doubly pinnate ones. The single pinnate leaves might be an Acacia or Robinia pseudoacacia.

I agree it is deceiving, but the 3rd picture is a leaf tip not a branch. The red stems give me pause on Albizia, but it will not surprise me if that color stem exists with them. They certainly look like Mimosa, Albizia julibrissin.

I really like doubly pinnate plants. When my Delonix Regia would flower in early summer the neighbours thought it was awesome, but I couldn't wait for the tree to get over it and focus on its best feature - the leaves.
