Please help choose paint color for TV room
Comments (16)I like the far right one as well. Much will depend on the kind of light the room gets... Here's what I do. When I've narrowed down to three colors, I buy tester pots and paint two mighty boards in each color. (6 total) then I tape them up in various spots...and always in one corner to mimic what the paint would look like in a corner. My local paint store carries MB...but one can also buy them online. The are pricy---but work much better than posterboard. I keep them in a portfolio and they are VERY useful when helping friends with paint decisions. melanie Here is a link that might be useful: Mighty Boards....See Moreplease help me make my living room less "cold" feeling .
Comments (6)The built-in is beautiful. I have never seen an application like that. Unfortunately, it only accentuates the vault and all that wall with NOTHING. SOOO much wall and really nothing to be done with it. Interesting visual--your clocks, but I think they would make a bigger statement if displayed closer together. To me shelves are for books--mostly so I want to see a few of yours with some books, just because that is expected. The larger couch does appear to be too far away to really watch TV from. What is behind it? Is that a wall? Perhaps moving it in a closer L with the love seat would cozy things up and give you a new space for a games table or sofa table?...See MorePlease help me make my dining room inviting
Comments (23)Woah celerygirl!! That is awesome! Thanks. Ok a few questions. I like all three mock ups. Where do I find the curtains and rug in the first photo? I like the black and white art in the third photo but I think the first photo makes the room brighter. I have a couple days off work so hopefully I can go shopping play around with some of your ideas....See MorePlease! help with basement TV room
Comments (17)I find monochromatic soothing, but agree that this this can be better. The entire top half of the room is empty and that accentuates the weighed down feel of the sectional. The solidity of the sectional is not enhanced by heavy end tables and the recliner, and the repetition of squares isn't helping. I'd replace the end tables and perhaps not have one at the window wall. In that corner maybe a floor lamp or very tall display or storage piece. For the other end table, consider something with a lighter feel, perhaps round, or glass and metal. There's texture going on but no reflective surfaces to break up a very matte feel (glass or mirror). It's all very flat. Some simple wood or painted shelves on the long wall would draw the eye up. Personally, I don't like to be reminded I'm in a basement and the window does that. I'd likely cover that wall with a long rod and drapery with a geometric pattern, even if it's nearly monochromatic. If you choose black accents or natural wood accents, repeat them at different areas and heights....See Morejlouise54
