Comments (22)These are the official Frazee paint colors the developer supplied to me when I requested them. Although a Homeowners Ass'n was never established there are CC&Rs in our deeds. Most neighbors do not want to stray too far a field from the original concept of the neighborhood. Neutral colors have been introduced, but dark colors or green/blues would not be appropriate. Comments (36)Steph I also use the plastic dish pans for drawers in the lower cabinets in the kitchen. For the same thing. My plastic food containers. Since I do not use those containers for left over food much now I might start using them to package my meat to freeze instead of baggies. Would take more freezer space but I think I have enough for that and reusable and would hold the juice well. Hummmm Good idea Steph. Looking back at the photos. I REALLY need to paint the brackets behind the mirror in the closet. I have to have them to hold up the shelf above. They do look pretty ugly gray. Or maybe I can find my long mirror to cover them. But I like the look of this other mirror. It came from my old neighbor lived across the street. I bet it was one thing that belonged to his wife. The frame on the mirror is actually plastic ,was gold I painted white. And I just had a thought. I have a small window with the divided pains that might fit that space. Will have to check it out. It needs glass and would make a great mirror. It is painted a funky green that I might leave that way and just seal it. I will have to drag it in to see if it fits. OH joy more fun....See MoreExterior House Paint Change
Comments (9)I agree with writersblock that the current colors work well. The dark red door links to the red brick chimney and the Japanese maple; the gray shutters link to the roof color. Think about replacing the light sconces with larger ones in a modern style that still echoes the Cape Cod style. Powerwash the roof and add traditional black house numerals. Consider spending the paint budget on expanding the front garden bed with the help of a garden designer to create a prennial cottage garden....See MoreHome Exterior is painted white brick. Comments (12)FYI Romabio is good at what they do ... no argument here.... but they have a limited range of only whites & very light grays and it cannot be applied to anything with conventional house paint on it, only raw unpainted masonry or other mineral paint applications. There are several other mineral paint (aka potassium silicate) paint co's in the US, a couple of which have a sort of "primer" product which can go over conventional paint - try this is one : https://www.beeckmineralpaints.com/ For best results though I think Id still want to get off as much of the paint film as possible .... but without going too far and damaging the brick. Then the primer product, and then the mineral paint. Of course this would be hugely labor intensive or expensive to hire out, that is assuming you can even find anyone who has heard of mineral paint or would want to do it. At the very least find a person who understands the science about this and doesnt shrug off the concerns - maybe there are some other types of breathable coatings that I dont know about. Michelle above is correct - any coatings need to be breathable, or there WILL be damage, its only a matter of time. The brick bldg across the street from me was painted only 12 yrs ago and is already spalling (ie brick cracking and disintegrating) terribly in some places near bldg exhaust vent and other places Its really sad how the big box, do it cheap mentality of the last 30-40 yrs has resulted in so much shoddy workmanship that is now considered the norm.... and actual physical damage. Not many people thinking long term any more, beyond 10 or 20 yrs....See Morelisedv
