Please help design my small pantry
Comments (16)Thanks for your feedback, Angela. Glad you think the design will work. I agree with you about having the 5 inch side closer to the opening. That is the way we had it the first time, so that was my first instinct too. However, we switched it so that the message/calendar niche could be on the wider side and near the pantry door (pantry door will have cork board on the back side it for notices) and beside the white board on the dumb waiter door. I figure from standing at the message centre niche, I have access to the phone, pens, calendar, cork board with notices and the message board on the dumb waiter door. Seating at my island is right behind me for longer conversations. The broom closet pull-out is awkward. I did not realize that the pullouts were expensive. We have that awkward space at the end because where the dumb waiter is positioned is not able to be altered to allow a wider broom cabinet. The space available is only 6-7 inches wide. I could do a 1 foot deep door and sort of put the brooms in on an angle. Would that be better than the pullout? What other options would we have for this narrow deep space? The dumb waiter, BTW, will be for bringing up groceries (our garage is in basement level), taking down trash, bringing food/dishes to and fro the rec room downstairs (there is a small kitchenette there). The dumb waiter starts in the mudroom (first room from garage) and goes to kitchen. I am really looking forward to having this feature. Thanks for linking fishes' kitchen. It is loaded with cool features!! Thanks again. Carol...See MoreSmall master bathroom and closet design challenge, please help!
Comments (4)I just finished an addition to my twenties home. I tried everything to get a bath and closet with in a 13 x8 ft space but everything felt cramped and instead of having a tight closet and a tight bath with small shower and vanity we decided to add wardrobes to or large bath. I wanted custom but due to an unexpected health issue we scaled back budget and went with IKEA pax wardrobes they hold all of my most worn seasonal clothes and all of my husbands work clothes plus most worn casual wear. I like the reach in better for organization too. We still have the orginal reach in closet and a pine older armoire for extra items in the bedroom but never open it. Could you add wardrobes in the bedroom and have a nice sized bath with additional storage? I really love my large bath after years in this old house with tiny baths and closets. I was unconventional and like keeping my clothes in the bath which has two venting fans. it is my most private from the street area in my room so it is where I change anyway but the wardrobes take up so little space I could have placed them in the bedroom without losing much floor space too. in your second plan you can turn the vanity and make it longer and have the edge abut the shower with a half glass panel and than the door.......See MoreNeed help completing living room design for small apartment

Comments (25)So I re-read your wishes for the room, and also noted you are near the beach as well as in the rustic woods, and want a cozy entertaining nest. Here is something that might work for the wall at the end of the stairs this table Put a mirror over it and at the end of the table nearest the stairs, put a striking structured plant like a bromeliad. Position a small dark-ish circular rug under this table, big enough to be a landing for whomever is coming down the stairs. If you want cozy conversational in the rest of the room, consider low modular sofas, and if you want swivel chairs, stick with something low profile and add boho foot poufs and textured lumbar pillows try a simple textured rug on the floor or something in a very low key tribal pattern. Think of twigs and branches when it comes to end tables. If you want to embrace the staircase, maybe artfully arranging these behind the staircase would be fun Put in one or two of these for books and low seating with lighting and pouf for a secret reading corner...See Morebligh101
