Peacock Pavers-has anyone used them?
Comments (32)I love them and love the look but they are hot as hell, so so slippery when wet and they track all kinds of concrete dust into the house. ours are not sealed. I didnt think they would get so hot in the sun but you have to wear shoes after mid day. We have them around a pool and it makes me so nervous with kids because they are always slipping and falling. they cleaned up well even after looking like those photos above. the stains from oak tree leaves and debris came right off. I would recommend grouting between the pavers. It looks so much better and cleaner. We have the oyster color....See Moredecking and coping for old pool in central NJ
Comments (7)Moocat Thanks for the reference. I will give him a call. I am curious if your friends chose to replace the tile, or if they were forced to because it would be damaged when the coping was replaced. We have great old tile in perfect condition that you cannot find any more and want to keep when the coping gets replaced. But I was told by A&S that the tile could not be saved. It kills me but I also don't trust A&S. They also recommended replacing my underground piping since it is 40 years old and will go under the new decking. I will have someone else check it out but that doesn't seem unreasonable....See MorePool Decking/Coping - Clean lines look
Comments (11)Milo, I sent "just a pb" an idea on his "pretty pictures" thread, I love the geometric look. Try very large, 24" white travertine pavers with a cantilevered edge, larger if you have the budget. Cool enough to walk on (we're in Vegas), maybe do the edge as an ogee or waterfall look as well, for the pool coping. Heck, as long as I am spending your money, add some glass with a waterfall effect into the pool. I've seen one from the second story all the way to the waterline that spilled into the pool. The water trickles across the glass. If anyone can do it, looks like "just" can. Send pictures when you proceed, Barb...See MorePorcelain pool decking and coping?
Comments (1)Did you make a decision? I am looking at revising my deck too. I have seen some pictures of porcelain pavers and like the idea as they seem to be easier to take care of. Plus I read that they are cooler to the feet which is important to me. I think they are popular in Europe but are new to US....See Moretonyasordi
