Asking which is the best brand of faucett is like asking which is the best brand of automobile. There simply is no answer to the question. In must be remembered that faucett manufacturers must produce products to meet all levels of demand in the consumer market therefore they all produce extremely good high end fixtures, commercial fixtures, general purpose contractor grade fixtures and sadly our society demands the "El Cheapo grade". While most consumers equate quality to the finish and final appearance in truth the real measure of quality in a faucett set is in the internal parts that you cannot see. Is the internal body cast brass or bronze or is it just a cheap plastic mixer body? Are the internal valve components high grade metals or plastics such as bronze, monel metal, stainless steel, ceramic or nylon or are they just cast polypropelene? Is the final finish truly plated or is it just a chrome, copper or gold wash? One simple test when selecting a faucett is to step around the corner to the parts section and see if the retailer stocks the repair parts. There is nothing more aggravating than having a high end faucett and find out later that you have to mail order replacement parts from some unknown source half way around the world.

I was looking for a spiral pulldown that was high quality on a budget. I found a used KWC pulldown on ebay for $150 which works great. I ended up buying a replacement spray unit for $150, not because it didnâÂÂt work but because that was where I could see some age. So for $300 got a great faucet that will last for years. IâÂÂll admit buying a used faucet is not for everyone, but I had (and loved!!) a KWC spiral pulldown in the home I just sold, and really wanted one again, but was not up for paying 2K. Good news, Wayfair is on their list! Also, concerning the price, the prep kitchen faucet is $168, the full sized kitchen faucet is $192 so that may be the reason for the difference.

I can purchase a Rubinet 8URVL Raven Kitchen Bridge Faucet with Hand Spray for 593.00 or a Moen S713 Waterhill Two-Handle High-Arc Kitchen Faucet for 524.00. I think I like the style of the Moen better but I've read in reviews that the side spray doesn't stay upright in its holder and that the faucet provides very low water flow in general. I cannot find any reviews on the Rubinet telling about its performance. Anyone out there have any experience with these? Starcraft I've read your reviews. Would you be willing to give a specific recommendation? Thanks for any help.
