Have you looked at images on Houzz.com? There are so many pictures. You can search for gray floors. Hanging sinks. What ever. What about a nice hybrid of vintage and modern? Not to tire people of my bathroom remodel but I have a picture of my almost finished slate tile floor. Be aware that there are floor stiffness requirements for tile and even stiffer requirements for stone. If You don't have access to improve your joist and subfloor to meet the demands of ceramic or stone, there are some lovely floor coverings that look like stone. My "in progress" slate floor. This is 6x12 Brazilian slate that I cut down from 12x12 tiles (the white tile boards are my wall sample boards, testing grout colors): I've attached a link to a recent bathroom remodel by Barbcollins. Thanks oaktown! Those are great pics. I very much appreciate your thoughts! I am reconsidering keeping the concrete floor. But I am worried that the concrete will stain with constant water exposure. Also, if there ever is a water main leak, it might be easier to hide any sawcut marks by replacing tile. The other reason I was thinking of tile, is I want to do the whole house in the new concrete flooring. This will be very expensive and may have to wait for a year. It might put off finishing the bathroom until then, unless I do tile.

I hear you, the countertops in my last kitchen were the same white square tiles I bought it with in 2002 and I left it up to the buyer what they wanted to do with it when we moved across the country to our new home. The things I wanted to do here were more important than updating the old one entirely - they did get a year old so newish floors, carpet, blinds and paint as well as a new fridge and microwave that stayed which we bought to replace the ones that up and died about 6 months before we moved. The mister left the particulars of how to decorate and what order to do things up to me except for the counters - his reasoning was that if we were doing granite then get it out of the way so we aren’t in total disarray longer than absolutely needed. He also thought the couch would take longer to come in because it was a special order fabric choice I had to have. I’m a fan of blue, the more vibrant the better, it helps make my grays in the house work - my brother said I was approaching “looks like a jail” with all the gray but who asked him anyway. ;)

Thank you guys. I really appreciate your help. My brain is fried and this decision has to be made immediately. gthigpen....I freaked out when I realized that the white was going to be a mistake. I cancelled it just in time but they are waiting on me to call in the color so it can be ordered. Sad for you that you didn't catch it...I hate regrets. My dd did the same thing with penny tile and white grout. A sea of white. Ugh. It's still pretty but she hates it. Gthigpen and Jackie...I see that you are using several colors of grout. I don't have that in me and I don't have a designer to advise me. I wish I did. Do you think it will be ok to choose one grout color i.e.; Silverado...and use it on all of the tile in three different bathrooms for simplicity's sake??? I have subway in two showers and in one tub surround. And the black and white on three floors and two shower floors. Here are some pics. Please advise and thank you so much for any wise words.
