Kohler cast iron tubs recommendations?
Comments (13)Hi, we recently installed the Tea for Two whirlpool bath in our kids' bathroom, and we use it as a shower as well. We love it. It's the 5.5' model, alcove installation, left hand drain. I was originally concerned that it would be too hard for them to get into -- they are not little kids -- (three girls, ages 17, 13 and 12 when it was installed last year) but so far they have no complaints about having to climb into the tub to shower. I love it too for the occassional bath, as our master bath has only a shower. Here is a picture of it. It has subway tile on the walls and the apron of the tub, and a minimal deck. Our contracter initially put in a more gigantic deck, and I made him tear it out because it overwhelmed our somewhat small bathroom. It has a marble shelf at one end and niches at both ends to hold the girls' many bottles of products. I'm so glad we built in that much storage. Instead of a shower curtain, we went with a partial frameless glass door, because I thought it would give you more of a feeling of openness when you took a bath. We bought it through Expo, back in Nov. 2006 (it was not installed til last spring though because construction took so long). The price at the time was more reasonable, although I notice they keep going up in price. I don't find the whirlpool too noisy at all. It's probably quieter than other whirlpool tubs, and also more gentle, which suprised us at first. I love how deep and roomy it is. Hope this helps. Comments (13)Spitfire, Dh has some of those and the no-iron khakis and he still presses them, it is just quicker and he prefers more of the "natural" feel of the untreated. If he wants to spend those last few minutes in the morning ironing instead of in bed, so be it. Tuesday, when we have had that problem, Dh has cleaned the iron, there was usually either starch or hard water gunked up in the holes. Rowenta even sells a kit for cleaning it. For the starch, the most important thing I have found is to give the fabric a chance to absorb the starch before putting the hot iron on it, otherwise it just burns on the iron. One method I have used with tableclothes is to press it, and when it was hot spray it and smooth the starch into the fabric (with my hand, arm or a plastic hanger) and then press again. Supposedly the heat allows the fabric to absorb the starch better. I also often dilute the starch more than recommended on the bottle to lessen the risk of burnt starch on the iron (which generally ends up staining the clothes). The problem with this iron (like the last one) was electrical. If we jiggle the cord, we can get it to work for a while. I am setting some dough aside so that when it goes completely caput, I am ready. Thank you for all of the recommendations....See MoreRecommendations for Wall Mounted Ironing Board?

Comments (11)Hi Ross Another Roscoe here, I'll introduce myself first, I'm 42 married with 2 young girls. I'm been a licenced steamfitter and plumber for about 20 years. I don't weld at work (because I am surrounded by professional welders) but at home I make wrought iron (steel) garden trellises obulisks etc, and a few gates and fences. I do all my own work on my cars, burn wood in a home made boiler and we do alot of gardening. In answer to your question about fancey curls you can do this two ways depending on how much room you have. The table is the same in both ways but one way the table moves (via a motor/gear box) or the other way you walk around the table with your metal. All you do is make plate jigs that you drop in as you walk around with you steel. The jigs should be plate about 3/4" to 1" thick and be cut like a half moon but larger on one end. The first one in the centre will be small and you will be able to rotate your steel about 3/4 of the way around it, then drop in the second jig which will be bigger and longer and the seel will bend around it. You can do this as many times as you want to. In order to get the right shape of jigs you can cut them out of wood and bolt them through the table and experiment that way. Your seel jigs will have harden steel pins tacked in them to drop into the table. When you build your table you should drill all you holes in an X (at right angles of corse) then put your pins in your jigs to suit your X. You may end up with 3 or 4 sets of jigs (colour coded of corse) If you need to I should be able to e-mail you a pic? I hope this will help you out, it is easy to build and very interchangeable. Would you be intrested in trading seed with a Canadian Check out my page Thanks Roscoe...See Moreterezosa / terriks
