My father.

To live long enough to see my grandson grown into a man.

All pets to have loving homes.

Children and elderly too.

To know that my children will lead happy fulfilling lives. Oh and dinner with my parents.

To have one more wine dinner and good conversation with my dear friend. She passed away July 1 and the world is just not the same.

I was thinking along these lines earlier today, and I really want to live long enough to see my kids get to be the age I am now (at least).

If I can have two wishes? I want covid to go away.

I can’t have my husband back in this life, but one day I’ll see him again.

Realistically, I want my beloved daughter to live a long, happy life.

You know, every so often there is a comment on the decorating or conversation side about how materialistic we all are. This post once again proves that at the core we are substance over style. I wish for all of you what you wish for yourselves. xo

For humans as a group to somewhat see things in the same light; at least in wanting to protect the Earth from our destructive pollution. If we could collectively change our ways starting today maybe the Earth and all of its inhabitants would have a chance to regenerate and heal.

Good health and happiness for me,my family, and everyone, and a cure for diabetes.

I want all of my friends here to be happy and healthy. Life is too short and often too hard, and joy is what it's all about.

To be held by my late husband. I never felt so safe and loved in my life. I had a difficult upbringing and he was my knight in shining armor.

But I’d give my hug up for our DD to have more time with him. [Young teen] was too young to lose her dad.

And a cure for cancer.

Remember that scene in "Peggy Sue Got Married" where she goes back in time to sit with her grandparents in their home once more? I have many such moments I would love to revisit, as do many of you, in your own way. I haven't seen that movie in a long time, but that scene was always my undoing. Painfully poignant.

The women folk here fill my cup every day - smart, resilient, funny and women of substance, each and every one.

We need to get over the idea of "saving the Earth." What we need to save is an environment that's conducive to human life. The Earth itself doesn't need saving. It has existed for millenia with different environments and different species. It will continue to endure long after we are gone.

The focus needs to shift from saving the Earth to saving ourselves.

Jinx, I second the cure for cancer. It has affected too many loved ones in our little family.

Ida, i get all the feels at that scene in Peggy Sue, too. I remember her grandfather's response when she asked him What he would have done differently and he responds ”Id have taken better care of my teeth.”

Id like to go back to my 18th birthday and have a do over.

Most of all Id wish my sons health and happiness, since you all have covered cancer, etc.

Despite all the life challenges we’ve faced lately I would wish for nothing to alter the course of life as it unfolds. I pray every day for the grace to accept life as it happens, the good along with the bad. It has taken me 65 years to reach this state of acceptance and I am happier now than I have ever been. I transfer my wish reserve to all those who have situations and regrets that are still hurting. ❤️

If I could have anything right now, I would ask for the ability to fully accept my life -the past and the present. I'm envious of people who live without constantly examining their lives....

Much like Kswl, I'm striving for grace and acceptance (whether I achieve them is debatable). My wish for my children, nieces and nephews, and future grandchildren would be on a macro-level like Terriks describes--that an international collective could find a way to reduce the immense damage we're doing to our quality of life here on earth. As humans, we are our own worst enemies.

My thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones, and whose hearts continue to break for those who are with us. Texanjana, I'm sorry for the suffering of your son. And, Yayagal, I wish you continued strength. I can't imagine what you're going through.

Yayagal, my MIL had severe Alzheimer's and she didn't want to die. She didn't even realize anything was wrong with her and thought she was fine. Perhaps your DH hasn't reached that point yet.

An infinite source of green energy that would end the use of fossil fuels. It would solve so many environmental and economic problems, and also lead to major science and tech breakthroughs.

^^^ I believe that green energy is a growth industry, and if e don't want to be left behind we need to invest in it. Unfortunately, there are powerful entities with vested interests in keeping fossil fuel.

Not to have had my two closest friends die young from cancer, one at 47 and the other at 55.

I have posted this before. I think this expresses well what we both strive for. Our sorrows are so deep but we try each day to walk toward the light. My DH and I sit in meditation for an hour every day at 4 pm. A number of years ago we wrote this to be said together at the end of the hour. You can substitute any pronoun. ( we , you , they )

May I be happy healthy and wise.

May no harm befall me.

May I attain my spititual goals.

May I forgive myself, forgive others and

be forgiven.

May I love myself , love others and be loved.

May I maintain equanimity in the face of

lifes ups and downs and my own

inevitable failures.

May I have a happy life and a peaceful

death.

I would reverse a decision I made 50 years ago.

If I could have anything, it would be good health for all, and that fear and pain for all living things were eased.

On a global scale I would wish that everyone could have empathy for others. That would make this world a much better place.

Personally, I wish I could back to when I was 12 with the knowledge that I have now. I would do so many things differently. I would enjoy every moment I had with my family and not choose the same path.

At first I thought I would want more time with loved ones lost, but I realized I have the memories, the love and honor them as I continue in life. I'm okay -- and they helped me be here. I do wish my parents could see my sons as young men, but again.....

If I had only one wish, it would be to restore truth, integrity and compassion in the world because I think all the other problems are derivative of the lack of these.

Perhaps it's my age, but I seem to know many people in very painful situations. So I wish today for all who are hurting to experience comfort and peace and to be able to face the future with great hope.

For my mother to have lived long enough to have met my kids. She would have been an amazing, hands-on grandma. And it would have been so fun to do things with her and them together. Life would be so different.

Also, I hope I live long enough to get to know my grandkids. If my kids wait as long as I did and don't have kids until 37/39, I will be nearly in my 80s!

I dearly wish my beloved husband had lived long enough to see his kids grow up (they were 13 and 19 when he died), and to be a grandfather; he’d have been a great one! And I wish he’d lived long enough for my kids to have a dad until they were well into adulthood. Also, I’d like to be alive and healthy for my grandchildren, if my kids have them- and if they wait as long as I did, at 41 and 45, (not really our choice, but that’s how it happened) I’ll be between 86 and 90! And I wish for my grandchildren to be born into a time of safety, hope and positive change.
