I can only answer from a man's point of view so Im sure there will be many differing opinions about the faucet difference but I would not want a faucet that just poured water straight down the drain. There might be a splash factor but when I think of rinsing dishes, as an example, the water pouring into the sink is rinsing the sink and other dishes as it runs. Additionally if you are filling the sink to wash a few dishes or other items, the water aimed at the sink will start the dilution of your soap more readily of it is playing off the sink bottom as opposed to the drain. Before I mention names of online suppliers that offer free shipping I feel it necessary, because of a recent accusation, to say that I am reasonably well known for a blogsite I maintain that is sponsored by National Builder Supply. I am not an employee, do not own it (I wish I did) nor am I paid (the owner is a good friend and I give him credit on the blog site because he does a great job and Im a satisfied customer). I am disabled retired accountant with parkinsons and I pass my days by writing the blog and reading and participating in over 30 discussion groups such as Garden Web and just enjoy helping folks. With that said there are many sites that give free shipping on merchandise, including NBS, but most have a requirement for a certain purchase amount usually $100 to $199. Watch the sights carefully because the prices can seem low but by the time you get done with your shopping the freight if not free at some level can make the price exorbitant. Now so that it will be obvious that I am not prejudiced to just NBS, my experience level and the retailers that I hear the most good about that have these free shipping policies are NBS, FaucetDirect, E Faucets. Im sure there are many more and you will probably be swamped with other suggestions but I believe reputation wise those 3 are the best. And no I also am not employed nor own any of the other 2 either...LOL

Not one poster has ever reported my information or recommendations inaccurate or that what I recommended failed to do exactly what I said it would based on the info the OP provided. Not one instance of channeling or hardness leaking through. Your FOUR posts on this forum are rife with inaccuracies and arguments and self-promotion... none which serve any poster. "I think in 25+ years in water treatment I may have learned something". I'd think that in 25 years you may have learned something but your posts indicate not. Your posts indicate that you are among those water treatment hucksters who confuse and ill advise customers to the point they come to these forums to get advice from people who aren't trying to reach into their pockets. As I've said before... the length of time one does anything is not an indicator of whether the thing is being done well. This is not the DIY forum you frequent where you are the one-eyed king among the blind. We bought a Kohler Vinnata 10 years ago when we remodeled our home. There is a full size version and a prep sink version. We opted for the smaller prep sink because like you, I thought the full size version was way too big. Our sink is a Shaw's farmhouse. I know its 30" long, but I can't remember how wide it is....18" sounds about right. It's a plenty big sink. Anyway, I wish we had gone with the bigger faucet. Our problem has been the amount of splashing behind the sink, specifically around the faucet itself. There is always water pooled there and I attribute it to the fact the faucet doesn't reach far enough into the sink. I will say other than the splashing problem, the faucet has been great. Water flow is fine and the hose reaches everywhere it needs to. We are building a new house now and we will definitely be putting in a larger faucet with a deeper reach.

My attention was drawn back to this thread by someone who liked an earlier post here, and I wanted to update to say that I did move forward with a Brizo articulating faucet purchase in the end and received excellent pricing during a sale at Quality Bath online. The issue with the articulating faucets falling forward has been fixed, so unless you were to order really old stock from a warehouse somewhere, all the new faucets for the last few years feature the fixed joints, and of course, Brizo faucets come with Delta's lifetime warranty. I ordered two of the Brizo faucets in the Brilliance Stainless finish which is PVD stainless steel and among the most durable of finishes available for faucets on the market today. Anything with "Brilliance" in front of the name from Brizo means that it is PVD. Note that Brizo's chrome faucets are merely electroplated, so you'd need to choose a finish that specifies "Brilliance" to get the PVD finish. The articulating faucets from Brizo that feature covered hoses, which is the style I purchased, are all newer releases and so would have the fixed joints no matter where you ordered them. Quality Bath does not stock Brizo in house, so any order you placed from them would come directly from the factory. I'm really happy with this choice and look forward to many years of longevity from the Brizo articulating faucets.
