Rude Weight Remarks
Comments (34)YAHOO!!! I lost 2lbs!!! WOW!! I love the WW's scale compared to CURVES!! I will not get on it again~~~well, I have to Monday to get weighed and measured:) I know I have lost inches, I tried on alot of my tops that I used to look like a sausage in and WOW they looked good:) After WW's I went shopping I want a new pair of jeans to wear next weekend when my Sweetie and I go off on our 3 day anniversary trip:) But, I do not want to pay much I am maybe just about ready to go down a size:) I tried on some of those panties that hold your tummy in just a bit LOL!!! They just gave me an extra roll so I put them back. I worked out 5 days this week, drank more water and really watched portion controll I think it paid off. I keep wondering don't we get to a point where we stop losing or have to eat less??? I am afraid the goal weight that want is too low for me:( Have a fun weekend my CURVES pal and I are going to a quilt sale and show, then too lunch~~~salad for me with dressing on the side YEAH!!!...See Morerestraint collar question
Comments (6)Elizabethan collar is the correct term - they come in all sizes and I would imagine that a size for a somall dog should fit a cat. There is something even better, I've recently discovered. My dog HATES the Elizabethan collar. At the pet nutrition store I go to, they have these soft blow-up collars. They're very comfortable and don't restrict their view like the old Elizabethan collars. But they keep the dog from licking sore areas. My dog doesn't mind it at all - and they come in assorted sizes. I'll try to find out the name of the collar if you are interested....See MoreHave you had an experience that changed your life?
Comments (59)Thanks for posting the Holland story, Morz8. I first read it when DGS was diagnosed as a GERD baby. It was a help to me as I was figuring out how to help DS and DIL, who were overwhelmed by the situation at first. Especially as they live out-of-state. It is such a gentle lesson, but difficult - how to accept the unacceptable, and how to adjust gracefully to that which cannot be changed, and how to find the good in what appears so bleak. I haven't checked any boxes because I would have to check all of them. That's how touching these stories are! As Current Resident said, this is the internet at its best. Every person has a story. Even if you think you don't have a story, you do. I agree wholeheartedly that travel to a new place is a great way to challenge oneself, to find even a mild adventure, and to experience a change in perspective that can never be taken away. I remember what it was like returning to the States after my first year overseas in Israel and Jordan (some years before the 1967 war that changed my life), Israel then a second-world country, and Jordan almost third-world. I remember walking into my beloved Marshall Field's in the Chicago Loop and being bowled over, almost sick to my stomach at the vast amount of gorgeous stuff available there. I had totally adjusted to "poverty", small plain stores with not much in them, nothing remotely resembling a supermarket anywhere, few people owned their own cars, there was no tv, as neither country had television then, and on and on. But people lived with so much energy and happiness, with appreciation for the details of life and with plans for the future, just as we do. I did not understand how my values had changed until I got home. I was seeing the world with diffferent eyes now; this is what happens when you go to a different (and sometimes more difficult) place - your humanity expands....See MoreNo restraint for a clematis on sale!
Comments (4)I added Guernsey earlier this year - I've finally gotten to the point where I need to keep a list of who is what and where. Lily - "crazy eyes" ! That's exactly how I get when I see varieties I wasn't expecting and on sale, to boot! Talking to myself and the plants while untangling, I'm sure I scared my fellow shoppers....See Morebeaglesdoitbetter
