I agree that the steps to the door need to be much wider. (And all the same width, too. Not graduated widths like they are now.) Plus, I would want the top one to be more of a landing-size, rather than a step-size. If someone comes to the door, where do they stand while waiting for you to answer? Down on the sidewalk? I don't think it looks like you could open the door with someone standing on the top step. You could get brick facers to have mortared on top of the concrete. Facers are the same length and width as normal bricks, but they're only about half an inch or so thick.

Add your barn/garage to your drawing of your property and an "x" beside the doors you do not want your visitors to use to enter. Add your screened porch to the drawing of the house. Add an arrow pointing to the door you do want visitors to use. You have invested a lot in building decks ... add them with a dotted line. The term "curb" appeal usually refers to the view of the home from the road. You seem to want to know how to make your actual entrance obvious. If that is your question, the answer is obvious. Remove the boardwalk/sidewalk that leads to the corner between the screened porch and your intended entry door and create a concrete a new sidewalk from your driveway leading only to your front entrance. Outline all the "yard" - except at the path you want visitors to use -- with a low growing plant (such as liriope iof it will grow where yo are) to "block" any other path. Your visitors need to be guided to your front door. Take out the overgrown shrubs and, as has been suggested here, re think the sidewalk to your front door. This can be done by widening both the bed in front of your house AND installing a wide sidewalk (modern paving stones) to the right side of your home. With planting beds on the street side of the pathway. You might consider low level lighting, too, to guide your guests to the right door. As has been suggested…placing your house numbers in a more obvious place, making them larger, and lighting them will help people see where they should enter. Have you ever considered creating a gate across the front of your carport? One that could be opened (or even have a small gate for family access) so that people see that area as “private?” Just a thought. Note: Installing a sidewalk to the street in front of your home, as some have suggested, only works IF your neighborhood has sidewalks. Many neighborhoods do not have them.

This one is a challenge (maybe why no other responses?): to minimize the imbalance of door/windows, settle the high-set house into its site, and cover the bare legs of the rhododendrons(?). I played with a number of options, but this is the one I liked best. It removes the shutters and prunes the rhododendrons below the windows. (I read that late winter is the best time to do that; even though some blooms will be sacrificed, regrowth will have a better shape than if you wait until after they bloom.) I painted the door navy, as you suggested, substituted a larger light fixture, added house numbers, and removed what looks like stone veneer on the stair risers. Plants are: one Purple Pillar rose of sharon (the tall shrub rising into the empty space), four New Jersey tea (native) flanking the stairs; two white evergreen azaleas and two Elegantissima red-twig dogwoods at the corners; and Chocolate Chip ajuga in the strip between sidewalk and street. Spring bloom will be the ajuga (blue), azaleas (white), and rhododendrons (color?). Summer bloom will be the rose of sharon (light red-violet with a deeper center) and the New Jersey tea (creamy white). There won't be much fall color--but New England's sugar maples provide plenty! (You could substitute Little Henry Virginia sweetspire for two or all four of the New Jersey tea. That would give you earlier summer flowers and red/orange/gold fall color.)
