Often Home Depot or WalMart has plants that are not even marked with a variety name. Sometimes, it's there on the pot or you just have to hunt for it on a tag. I'm with NHBabs. I always look up the variety (if it's marked) on my phone to see what the true hardiness rating is. Often you have to visit several sites and choose the one with the most conservative rating. I usually steer clear of un-named varieties. In my zone 7, we can usually grow most azaleas, but not all. So even I need to watch carefully. In this case Enchanting Elegance could be a marketing name for a whole array of plants offered by a particular wholesaler or grower. Sort of like Garden Deput or Proven Winners.

Worcester, MA? We had some really cold weather without a lot of snow early this winter (late Dec. and early Jan.) so it may be that the cold did damage. Tell us more about the growing conditions, (moisture, light, soil, landscape fabric?, how long it has been there) and if you know it, the variety. The photos make it look very close to the shrub behind it but photos can be misleading. How far apart are they, and can you add a photo from slightly farther away?

Sorry, but the two issues are not at all the same!! Rick, your apple blossoms are just showing some weather damage......nothing to worry about and nothing to treat. Fwiw, a great many early blooming trees and shrubs will produce flowers that show this sort of damage....typically just the result of a heavy rainfall. We see this all the time in our wet PNW springs......and we grow a heck of a lot of apples here in WA state!!

You have a Thanksgiving cactus/Schlumbergera truncata. They usually don’t bloom in the summer, but more around Thanksgiving, hence the common name. So don’t worry that it is not blooming now. Even tho it is a cactus, this cactus comes from the rain forests of Brazil. They like more water and less light, unlike a cactus from a dry environment. More moisture doesn’t mean keeping it soggy, a fast draining mix is still important. The pink color is from stress, but in this case stress isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Stress coloring is pretty normal when it comes to succulents. They will color up from a few reasons like dehydration, high light, and or cool temps. How much do you water and how much light does it get?
