Clump Shots Plus A Few Other Plants
Comments (13)These pictures are just delightful. I love clump shots because I really feel that daylilies look their prettiest when blooming all together.....even plain-looking daylilies have a special 'glow' about them when viewed as a clump blooming away in the garden. It's easy to love pretty faces but the figure is important too....LOL. You have some very pretty ones here. I like that clump shot of the yellow NOID. (I have a couple yellow NOIDs myself and mine are fragrant too so I wonder if yellows tend to be more fragrant?). I like the form of your yellow too. Then of course Chance Encounter is always so photogenic and just the loveliest shade of pink so who could resist that one? And lucky you to have that Carpenter seedling 'Ruby'! That is so eye-catching and quite frankly I'm jealous because it's not something I can ever order...boohoo. The others are lovely and so enjoyable to see. I'm glad to see Green Mystique because I planted one last fall and haven't seen it in person yet. Celeste...See MoreThursday FFOs plus a shot of Clown Parade
Comments (13)Well now, have mercy! All those lilies were so pretty but then I saw that photo of Clown Parade and nearly fell off my chair. When you're that drop-dead gorgeous how can you not show off? Where oh where can I buy myself a Clown Parade? My next favorite would be the first one, the Westbourne one. I am enjoying all your postings and can never get enough so keep them coming! Celeste...See MoreAn ffo, some rebloom and clumps on Friday
Comments (18)Mantis and Julia - I think Skullduggery is only registered as having 15-16 buds. Mine, still in a pot, only has 6-8 buds per scape this year. I don't think I've ever had more than 15 buds per scape, and that was probably in the first year I had it. In the past, it's been a very reliable rebloomer. Being in a pot for several years, it has not multiplied very quickly. I have a lot - especially early bloomers - with very poor bud counts this year. We got NO rain to speak of in April, which is the opposite of what usually happens. I started watering my seedlings and the two beds by my seedling regularly in early May. The daylilies in those have much better bud counts than those I only watered a couple of times in May. Jean and Anika - Glitter Gal is a nice one. It is not diamond dusted. Where it glitters is the edge. It has a double edge - gold wire - that does glitter - and a fluffy white and gold edge with some tendrils and knobs. It can melt on a 95-degree day unless it's kept well-watered. It does fade somewhat, but still has a pleasant lavender color at the end of the day. It multiplies very quickly. Comments (24)I love this clump thread! Sherry, I especially love the Indian Giver clump. My IG did great shows last year but not so much this year. Wow, Debra, Reckless Girls! Kate, love the cascade of Thomas Tew. David, That clump of Websters Pink Wonder must be amazing in person with the size of its flowers! Carmen Renee, of course. Daily for a couple of weeks or more Castle Pinkney Chance Encounter also had large shows daily for a couple weeks or more. It had way for than this, but this was the best photo. Desert Icicle had several days of great shows. Hot Wheels and Ciel D'or. Both had daily shows as usual. Coral Majority also gave shows for 3 or more weeks non stop. I'm already one over. Hard to stop. Brad...See MoreBrad KY 6b
