Exterior Paint Design Dilemma

Exterior house color suggestions, please.

I am working with someone who bought an older 80s home. She is looking for paint colors. The first two pics are the house. The second two are the colors she likes. She wants to tone down the rust field stone. Will her choice work? Or is there a better way to go? Thank you in advance for your help!

The color of the siding under the gable should be close to the overall color of the stone so the gable is a visual continuation of the house.

You can't get good color advice over the internet. I'm sure there are shades of the chosen colors that would work with the stone, but would those named shades work well or would slightly different versions be better?

The cosmos will look great and is so easy, and you could add some poppies too, they are easy to sow as well and just like cosmos, if you leave some go to seed, they will come back again and again. It's also fun to buy a wildflower mix appropriate for sun or shade, which ever you have and just be surprised by the riotous mix of whatever shows up and all the butterflies that come to visit. You can get the seed type, or the type that looks like dust bunnies (for real!) that you scatter over your lawn and water in very well, or the kind that looks like a fuzzy shelf-lining that you roll out over your lawn or wherever you want your flowers to come up and water that in well.

you could purchase windows for the one panel in that garage door. they are easily removed. I'd look into that. They also make a wood-look paint for garage doors. That might be worth a shot too. (lots of online tutorials for it) Accessories and landscaping are what's going to really make this exterior what you want. a new door is easy enough to find. heck, I just found a bunch of them on Craigslist. people selling vintage wood mcm style doors. or just get a 4 glass panel door in it's raw state. you can refinish it, or paint it yourself. get some modern numbers, spray them if needed, attach them to a nice piece of finished wood and make your own placque get some decent looking exterior lightes. spruce up the front porch area and flower beds. Look at modern style front yards and see what you can replicate w/yours. (and yes, if you can swing, get rid of that box! )

The only way to be able to tell which color is best is to sample. I think you have some good possibilities, so either paint some boards or paint large samples on the walls of the house. Be sure to use two coats when sampling so you are replicating the finish as it will be. If you're going to use the color on multiple sides of the house, be sure to look at it on all sides, and at different times of day. The quality of light can drastically change the appearance of a color.
