texture glass on kitchen cabinet doors

I’m curious about what side the texture should be on? It seems to be a personal preference from what I am learning. It’s for a kitchen. Just thought I would ask for opinions, thank you!

The texture facing the room looks more pronounced, the texture facing the inside of the cabinet is easier to clean.

In a kitchen cabinet I would have the texture facing the inside of the cabinet. For cleaning purposes. If textured glass shower enclosures came back, it would be texture side out, so that soap scum doesn't accumulate in the texture.

Am going to watch with interest to see if you get any replies. I have shaker style doors that my kitchen guy is going to have to modify. They were SUPPOSED to be glass inserts, but they came as regular wood doors. The wood will have to be removed, and the glass will have to be added as yours will be, and not as a slide in panel. What about securing a piece of grooved wood to the whole width of the glass with the clips? Wouldn't that be more secure than just the clips?

As noted lighting and use matter-you can do lighting with wood shelves, just not pucks, need to be strip light on the sides of cabinets. It's the most common interior lighting I use. "...I wouldn't pay for mahogany though." Once at the level of a cabinet where that is available as an option the upcharge should not be significant. With the brand I carry that offers mahogany it is zero upcharge. Nothing matches the grain/look if you're at all particular. Veneer interiors are an upcharge but then so are glass shelves.

I have glass fronts on each side of my hood and have no grease on my glass. I get a slight film on the cabinet sides that butt up to the hood but they clean easy with a little dawn and water, and that’s only occasionally needed. I do not deep fry, but sauté with high heat often. Maybe it’s the type of cabinet I have but I only do a thorough cleaning once a year, and they clean easy. No dust friends attaching. I do quick wipes as needed where anything may have splashed. If glass is the look you want, go for it. I’m glad I did.

Textured glass comes in so many styles! I have several that are my favorite. I also think it's something that can "age" your kitchen (or front door) faster, or you might just tire of the look.

We're waiting on a new front door (3/4 glass) and full glass sidelights.

Not sure which one I will use, but happy to have so many choices! They are all a high quality film, and most are textured, as well.
