Not sure if I should switch these rugs-Living room/Dining room
Comments (4)@Judy Graham Part of the reason I have it so close to the window is that the light above the table would be completely off center. I suppose I just need to get a smaller table and ditch the china cabinet. It was my husband's from a long time ago and he really thinks we should keep it. If I move the sofa to face the fireplace, the back of the sofa would be facing the kitchen. I just remodeled my kitchen and it is now the prettiest part of the open floor plan....See MoreHow to layout furniture in a small, narrow living/dining room?
Comments (2)Pics are best posted here in a comment . A to scale plan is alway good showing windows doorways and any other element that might hinder furniture placement like a FP .The room in these pics is alittle longer than yours but the same width I would just put the TV where we have the non functioning FP I think you could put the sofa where had the bench...See MoreNew house. Comments (26)Hi. No reason you cannot create a to scale floor plan now. Any decision in the living room needs to be done in conjunction with the new plan for the porch. (where door openings are positioned are important). 2 love seats are not functional. They are not facing the tv and adults that are not a couple don't like sitting in them. The best arrangement is always a sofa and 2 chairs. Having said that, if, for some reason you love having a chaise, then the argument could be made for that. I recommend a removable chaise for future flexibility. If you really don't have guests or it is seldom, you could use only the sofa in the room and bring in extra chairs for when guests visit....See MoreHelp! Long, narrow dining/living room!!!
Comments (6)Here is the current layout. Where the TV is now is going to be a fireplace in the near future. I have this as the focal point for the sofas at the moment, but because the room is so long there is a bit of empty space behind it. I have a console table back there currently. Wondering about added a shelf or plantstand or hanging plant, or just wall art to balance the room. Thinking also of hanging curtains as well. Will update again when the fireplace is finished. Planning to get rid of the tall lamp and replace it with a new one soon....See MoreRelated Professionals
