Hard to tell without knowing what the rest of the furniture in the space look like. For sure if you decide to keep it, I'd get rid of the items on the top and hang a piece of artwork instead.

What are the positives? it seems to fit really well into that particular location and looks to handle your TV, unless you plan to get a larger one. Consider updating it with some interior lighting. LEDs are available everywhere and can make a big difference. When lighted up, you might want to do some tweaking to the interior. You can paint or wallpaper custom cut luan or foam core to fit in the back of the shelves. You could also replace the wood shelves with glass ones to lighten the look somewhat. Unless the items inside are precious to you, consider using one piece of pretty colored glass on each shelf. The light shining through will look very nice.

Suggest you go with a custom build.

You have a gorgeous room with beautiful moldings. This dark, busy entertainment center doesn't look like it belongs. I would get a white console and mount your tv above. You could also put it on top if the console is tall enough. Here's an example:

You could do wood if that's more your aesthetic.

It looks like it might be able to be taken apart. If you remove the two end pieces and the top piece, you would have a console that your TV can be on. Then you could put the two end pieces in an office if you have that.
