Naylor Creek Order Arrived Today
Comments (9)My order arrived from Naylor today as well. Gary sure has been busy, and likely to be more so even as the March Madness comes to an end. Have you noticed all their AUCTIONS? Well, I have. And though I placed my order before December, they were nice enough to add the two winners to my Monday shipment, for a better shipping price total overall. So if you think your order from late 2013 (mine was placed in October) is soon to ship, check out their HL Auctions for a lagniappe hosta or two which can piggyback with your original order. It worked for me. I have mine unwrapped but not pictured yet. Maybe tomorrow. I have Erotica, Parthenon, The Sweetest Thing, Irish Eyes, Stargate #2, Bamse, with auction winners Android and Monsoon....See MoreEurohosta order arrived today
Comments (8)You have chosen some real beauties there!! They are beautiful. Nice and healthy, well packed and labeled. The roots look pretty good and abundant. I'd say at less than $10 a piece including shipping, that's actually pretty good. Inniswood even has 4 eyes. If you consider your gas/time and the remote possibility of you finding all of those plants locally for that price, I think you'd decide that this is quite good. Also, they are nicely wrapped and packed... I understand about the mixed feelings, though. Most of us like to feel like we got a deal unless the hosta is super rare/hard to find. If you know you prefer to have your socks knocked off with size, are there any known vendors who sell only field grown? It seems like tc is always going to be small and obviously younger. Myself, I'm not getting any younger, so I'd rather pay a bit more and have a larger plant. For that reason, I seek out the vendors who are known to ship large sizes, field grown. After growing liners and finding that I'm not that great at it, I've decided that I'd rather pay a bit more and have more impact right away. We all find a way to justify what we do, if we even need to justify it. Good job getting them all potted up! It's kind of fun to spread them out, document the arrival with pics and post here for all of us to admire!...See MoreMy first order arrived today
Comments (8)Dave, receiving new plants in the post is always exciting! Having not seen the plants you are purchasing, there's usually an element of surprise too! (You hope for the pleasant variety!) Looks like you have some nice root systems that will pay dividends in the coming months. I only have one of those - Lakeside Ripples (photo taken today). This will be its third year, but you seem to have secured one that's already off to a good start! Be sure to post the progress of Lemon Squash - I love the look of all those ripply ones developed by Jeroen Linneman! It's available in the States this year, but as yet, it hasn't crossed the border to any retailers further north! Anyhow, enjoy watching your haul grow over the coming weeks and months. Comments (12)Yess!!! It sure does look like a carrot, doesn't it? loll!!! I'd love to say I had plans for this plant, but I do not. Other than developing a nice root spread, (or not) I'm so pleased with it...all it has to do is NOT die, in my care I'm pretty confident though, I've had adenium that my interest has waxed and waned over the last few years & they just wouldn't give up the ghost. I might try a ratio of bark vines to pumice in a few of these Walmart specials, as I see Chris, of Durham Botanicals reccomends as such... I've neglected mine at home during winter months, though under flurescent lights, I grow them really hard....See Moreilovetogrow z9 Jax Florida
