Can someone help with iPhone?

I have an iPhone 6s. I already googled the problem, but it did not resolve it.

I am on a group text, and I want out of it, I tried everything that google said to do but it is not matching up with my phone. Can anyone help? All these texts are driving me crazy! The group leader can't even take me off.

Receiving texts from a group has nothing to do with your personal phone - the phone gets what's sent to you. A "group" has membership contained originally in the phone of the first sender. If later participants keep replying to a message you received, you'll continue to get them. Ask the group originator to remove your name and then send another message without you - that should stop it. The person who set up the group can control who's in it.

What may be possible on your phone is just to filter it. Under Settings, and Messages, you perhaps can filter messages from unknown senders (whose not in your Contacts file) into a separate place. Call Apple Support for more help for your particular model

Not sure which iOS you have, I have iOS 15.1, on my iphone, if I click on the group at the top of the text message, that will bring up a screen of the group contacts. Use my finger to swipe the screen up then I’ll see at the bottom the option “Leave this Conversation” which I can choose to opt out of the group texting. Try it on your phone and see if that’ll work.

It is a mini-phalaenopsis hybrid. It will be difficult to id the exact name, as there are so many phal hybrids out there. It likely has phalaenopsis equestris and/or phalaenopsis lindenii somewhere in its parentage. Very bright, pretty colors!

I think it is a GW problem. At least, GW is the only site where I am having it. I can now enter my password and post using my computer and my iPad, as I am now doing, but I still cannot log in via iPhone. It keeps telling me that I must log in after I enter my user name and password on the iPhone. My updates are current, if that matters. No, no error message appears, no passwords have changed. Akpparently this won't help you, but this is my DD's recent email: "This is why technology is awesome: I lost my phone at a concert last night. As soon as I knew it was gone, I started calling it. Whoever had it was not answering. I set it to "lost phone mode" from a friend's phone, which sent a display message to my phone saying that it was lost and giving a contact number to reach me. This morning I used the Find My iPhone app, which pinned it to a house in Littleton, giving me an address and a map. After I filed a police report online, I called the Littleton police, who went to the house (which turned out to be a duplex, but Find My iPhone was pretty specific, pinning my phone's location to the northern unit in the building. I took a screen shot of map and texted it to the officer.). So the cops walked into the apartment and let the ladies living there know that they'd tracked a stolen phone to their house. There was some go-around, but after they were told that a stolen phone carried a grand larceny charge (which actually isn't true, the cop was bluffing), they managed to find the phone and give it to the officer. So I got my phone back and didn't have to drop $400 at the Verizon store"!

Just go to your browser's Tools list in the top right hand corner of the browser window, open the drop down list and click to clear the cache. When it is done then close the browser and then reopen it fresh. Easier to do on your computer than on the phone but then you'd have to power down the whole phone and power back up to get a fresh load of FF. Dave

I don't have the "Leave group option" I can only mute it but it's taking up my battery if I start reading them. I am so upset with this

Then ignore them, why read them at all? No reason to get upset.

Unless you're getting a large volume of messages every day, and perhaps even then, rest assured you're not using much battery power just receiving them. Or, as I said before, try checking with Apple or your cell carrier's support group to see if you can get a solution.

Then you must have an older version of iOS. Another option may be blocking their numbers.

I have blocked some of the numbers. I don't know yet if that is working or not. What once was a group message is now coming in as individual messages.

Just reply to the next text and ask that the next person to reply take your name/number off before that person hits send.

Just block all of the individual numbers. You're only seeing the responses from those you haven't blocked so they look like individual messages. You're just not seeing the blocked #'s responses. I've had to do that because group texts also drive me crazy if it's from people I don't want to hear from.

Blocking all the numbers is ok if you want all the numbers blocked. But it’s not helpful if any of the people are aquaintances you might like to hear from.

There’s a possibility that one or more of the participants are on an android devices. That can screw with the functionality of group chats. In the place that you looked to be removed, find ”hide alerts” and select that. You’ll still receive the messages but they won’t affect you.

Yes, and for iOS 14 or above, the “Leave this Conversation” option is visible but greyed out so you can not select it. I just look up to see iPhone 6 only goes up to iOS 12.x.x so the opt out feature is not shown at that screen, and if it’s not shown when you click on Info button, then there can be a possibility one or more Android numbers mixed in the group.

I just tested the hide alerts, and while it doesn’t beep or flash when you get a text, it does still bump the conversation up. Still annoying but easier to ignore.

Based on previous comments, I am assuming this is a text message group conversation, correct? If you can't leave the text conversation, it's because there are some users in the group who are on non-iOS devices. I think they were trying to fix that in iOS 16, but I can't remember if it's included or not (that is the version out this fall). However, the notifications are what's primarily going to chew your battery. If you have the conversation muted, they will stop appearing and the conversation will still be available in the Messages app.

That being said, you may want to consider updating your device to one that can support a newer version of iOS, so you can utilize the stronger security and privacy features in the newer versions, as well as better battery life and screen resolution/clarity. I know upgrading isn't always the most fun thing to do, but sometimes ya gotta do it.
