Design Dilemma living room Paint

Need advice on living room wall sconces

The brown is the before pic & the blue is the after. Now I need wall sconces to replace the 4 brown ones on each side of my Living Room windows. Also thinking of painting the same blue as a accent wall behind my kitchen cabinets. AND kitchen island lighting recommendations. I am not painting my cabinets. Need help.

Yes we painted them brown the first time.

A 55" TV is only about 48" wide. I really think the sofa should go on the wall and the TV should go above the fireplace. Otherwise, you have to choose between awkward TV viewing or an awkward sofa location. eta: I just read that you never use the fireplace. You could put the TV on a console in front of the fireplace (gasp) I know. But I think you could make it work if none of the fireplace was visible.

Once you have furniture in your space the chair rail will not be noticed on that side. It will not be the focal point. Your furnishings and artwork will be what people will see. Also, spaces that are completely balanced are not nearly as interesting as having a little asymmetry here and there imo.

The phone booth should be angled into the corner. IMO. Those sconces might just become dots on a wall at this point, the eye already has a lot to look at. And if you are not going to actually wire them, I would find another room for them. ( they are awesome) if anywhere on either side of the doorway to the kitchen closer to the door frame, not centered to the wall.

I would like to begin saying that I love the minimalist aesthetic you have. I’m a less is more person and I don’t like random artwork for the sake of filling walls. With that said, I’d like to see more color warmth on the walls. The buttery white is making it too stark. Have you considered painting? I would try the sectional against the buffet wall to free up the window, and add your teal accents into the window treatment. Eliminate the glass table or move it between the chairs. Add more unique floor lamp lighting near the couch. The buffet can then be moved to the kitchen wall.

What's the plan for the beige carpet? Have you considered removing the sconces entirely and using floor and table lamps for a more updated way to light your room once you've dimmed or turned off the ceiling fixture? That will give you a more cozy and intimate space. I don't care for accent walls unless t here is no other redeeming architectural feature on a wall.

Probably a gray that leans toward blue, but an area rug over wood or LVP would be better.
