I thought I was the only one who wants straight corners and no texture in a new build house! All the builders think I'm nuts and try and show me their lovely special "knock down" texture (I am going to have to put the "no texture" request in an addendum if we go with a production builder) and they insist the corners are worth the $900 or so they charge for them. No thank you. I agree that architectural style makes a huge difference in the discussion. I ant a cottage style homes so texture and rounded corners would just be jarring to me and take away from the "old" look. I've seen Spanish style, Tudor and deco houses that the corners really worked in, though.

I know this thread is old, but here goes. Having a granite L-Shaped wall bar top being contracted in Steel Gray granite. No outside corners to worry about. Template guy was the owner and never even brought up any of these questions, not to mention where the seam would be? When I did ask about the seam, after he was gone, told that it needs to be 90’ just left of the corner, where the 2 cabinet bases come together. Just thinking a 1” radius on that inside corner wouldn’t be bad. Brand new basement finish. Excited but a little concerned about the granite.

Our house (built in 1992) has bulldozed corners and the original owners has applied the baseboards with a 22.5 miter to a short pc to round the corner then another 22.5 to the next wall. It looked fine but we put in all new flooring and used the prefab rounded corners with a taller plain baseboard and I like it much better.

If you could make the size work, it would be great. I guess you could always measure carefully and use your square up ruler if you needed the blocks to be a bit smaller. The more I look at this pattern, the more I question using this fabric for this design. I love the fabric. I'm really stuck on the blue and yellow lately. I saw this on a MSQ video and went back for more of this fabric. Would it be too repetitive to turn all the squares in instead of alternating? Of course, you can see what it looks like after you cut it, but before you sew it. What if you sashed it? Here's my fabric - washed, but not pressed I just did a search for quilts striped fabric.
