Rosemantic Pink- turning into one of my Best Roses In Texas

I do not have pictures exciting enough to share but wondered if others were having the same remarkable success with this rose?

I planted Rosemantic Pink in my Dallas Garden in Feb of 2021. It grew and bloomed wonderfully for a first year rose and did so until I moved in Dec. 2021. It was one of the 3 roses I brought with me to Austin, knowing it would be hard to replace. It has been living in a 22" pot since I dug it up in Dec. and it has never missed a beat. Now it is a strong pot growing rose, never without blooms or bud with color. I am shocked by its vigor and blooming power. The heat does not stop the blooms coming but they do fade fast (but who wouldn't at 106).

Could others please share their experiences? I would love to have it as a climber once I own my own dirt. Concerning as a climber is that RPink seems to mimic Olivia Rose's growth pattern, and she was a tough one to train into a climber. RPink, like Olivia Rose both make great large, rounded shrubs they just take up less space growing up.

My first year the steams were too weak to hold the large sprays so they drooped but that has corrected and now all strems strong. I am going to try sending a photo for encouagement - it was planted in March2021, dug up in Dec 2021 and has been growing in pot since. It is 106 here right now and still blooming.

This was in April the first pic was 4th of July. its was fairing better than I in Austin’s heat wave. 🥵

Really good news for my Rosemantic Pink that yours is so great. Mine hasn't bloomed yet, but will soonish. :) It's a new rose for me and our season is later since I'm further north.

Thanks for the heads up, WellRooted. I was in Art Knapp's in Vernon about 4 weeks ago and they had quite a few Austins but they weren't selling them at that time (too early apparently). They must have sold out since I was there. I was up at Art's in Kamloops last weekend and I'm sure I saw some up there so I'll go check. Otherwise, there is a nursery up in Barnhartvale in Kamloops that usually has Austins on their own roots. They are usually a little smaller than other nursery ones but I haven't had any trouble with the ones I've bought there. I know the own root rose grower that you are referring to that went out of business. What a shame. I never got to visit there but loved looking on their website. And now I see the Old Rose Nursery on Hornby Island is up for sale. You are right. Pretty soon the only option is going to be whatever the big stores deem suitable for us. Nastarana, I haven't heard of the Rennaisance series. I'll have to do some research. It can get pretty hot here in Kamloops and the Okanagan during the summer with temps in the low 100's for a few weeks. But then, in the winter it gets fairly cold too so we have both extremes unfortunately. I'll take a look at your suggestions. Thank you. :o)

Belinda's Dream is a gorgeous rose, huge and filled with petals, and fragrant. I would also suggest a group called tea roses, which are old roses from which the hybrid teas were created. However, they're big and beautiful bushes that like the heat, bloom a lot and are tough. Even if they get some disease (which they don't in my dry heat), they're usually vigorous enough to shrug it off. They come in beautiful soft colors. Unfortunately, most of them are not terribly fragrant, but some like Duchesse de Brabant and Mme. Joseph Schwartz, are. Another group called Noisettes are also wonderful, although they often get larger. Polyanthas are smaller roses that are also quite healthy. The Chinas are also another great group for your climate. The Texas Rose Emporium is a nursery that also sells on-line. I would give them a call. Describe your situation, what you're looking for and your climate. I'm sure they can suggest some lovely roses that will work well for you. The EarthKind roses, as mentioned already, are beautiful and tough roses that were tested in Texas for their disease resistance. The Texas Rose Emporium, Chamblee's and Rogue Valley are all on-line nurseries that will carry them, and also the other roses mentioned. Good luck! Ingrid

Hi Sue I'm trying to think of a pink that doesn't fade in Melbourne, but there are few. Probably Flamingo and Queen Elizabeth are closest, but both grow very tall in my garden. The Childrens Rose is a pale pink to begin with, but doesn't fade. Gertrude Jeckyll doesn't fade and has a great perfume, but she''s not to everyone's taste. Gold Bunny and Friesia are very popular yellows here, but I can't vouch for their colourfastness. All those are readily available in Eastern Australia. Isn't our limited range of roses a pain? Sue

Low nitrogen & Low phosphorus and high potassium & calcium was what helped with my Betty White. Both high nitrogen and high phosphorus attract thrips. High potassium & calcium (2 part potassium to 1 part calcium) helped with Betty White. It's short since I use low-nitrogen. My garden is no-spray and I use organic fertilizers: horse manure, alfalfa meal and just a tiny bit of chicken manure NPK 2-4-3 (Coop Poop), plus red-lava-rock for high potassium & calcium. According to description it is supposed to have enormous blooms, my conditions have not been appropriate to produce any beyond the standard so far, just average but maintaining average even in heat. I am still learning about it which is why I posted. 2021 was its first year in USA I think and Palatine was such a mess ordering this past year than others may not have gotten it yet. I also planted Rosemantic Fushia at the same time. It was a strong grower and bloomer but for its first year was more like the old time HT growth and bloom.... sticks with blooms.... but lot of them.! The color was a bit strong for me to love it but others that saw in my garden, thought it was grand and it did have a long long vase life. Always a plus.

I really like mine as well. Planted it 2021 from Palentine and its been consistently blooming in 100+ temps. I really like the dark green leaves. looking forward to it seeing how it does as it matures more.

My current blooms are small and I think it is the heat and being pot bound. But constant. I seem to remember them being large when She was in Dallas. I thing this is going to be a large bush.

And I have the Rosematic fuschia amd it has stayed compact and fill of blooms. Super happy with that one too.

I've been loving Rosemantic Fuscia, too! Pink was sold out by the time I got to order!

The fragrance is lovely, too.

Oh Librarian, that is a perfect picture of the Rosematic Fuschia. It is a really hard color for my camera to capture.

My RP's leaves aren't quite as nice as others posted here. But, the blooms last a really long time, and the fragrance is very good.
