How do people give reviews if they do not own them ? IMO if a product has many bad reviews it probabltt is not great and why only this cabinet company since there are many to choose from. I would never have cabinets made in China for the simple fact to get any help with the warranty is in my experience useless. If you are wanting to save money get Ikea they at least back up the product and I have used them inmy homes and for many clients and in almost 25 yrs of doing kitchen design with them have had 2 warranty issues both solved in store in less than an hour. BTW all wood construction is IMO not ideal for cabinets and for sure not painted ones.

But this is a good example of what I’m seeing. “Beware, they are from china.” Or “I would never stock them for my business.” However, I’m just not seeing many people who have them providing first hand feedback.

I totally get that something must be up if there is all this negative sentiment. But I would love to see some first hand accounts!

We remodeled an area of our home 3 years ago and added a bathroom and an area we jokingly refer to as our "breakroom" and I absolutely love the J&K cabinets in them. The breakroom is adjacent to my desk and provides the upstairs level with a bar sink, microwave, mini refrigerator, table, etc. The designer at J&K knew exactly what would work when I asked for drawers that would serve as file drawers and spec'd a pantry with roll out trays for my heavy color laser printer and our security system monitor, and uppers with glass fronts for crystal. The grandkids make a beeline for their lower drawers which hold art supplies, games and snacks. The cabinets are all wood, sturdy and the drawers glide perfectly. The area gets a fair amount of use and the cabinets have held up beautifully.

Thanks for this. Glad they are working out for you. Do you think they would have held up as well in a heavy use kitchen scenario? Or is that difficult to predict?

Obviously, we haven't had them in a heavy use kitchen scenario so I don't have first hand experience. I'm sure you know that you want to look for solid wood construction, full-height back panels, soft-close hinges and glides, hardwood dovetail drawer boxes (no 1/2" or pinned), etc. J&K gives a lot of value for the price but long term, custom cabinets may be a better value for your situation.
