HELP!!! My Mom has a GREEN ROOF and I can't choose a house color

So, for some reason beyond my control my Mother decided to have a new GREEN ROOF put onto her home. She now wants to change up the exterior base light green/yellow color of the house and I can't seem to find a color, other than white, that goes with it. I have also thought about Cedar Shake. She wants it to look Cottage-like or Modern Farmhouse. She also wants to keep her screened in porch, but it can be updated and she wants to replace the garage door. Thank You for any suggestions!

This may help you. Its a pretty green. There are a lot of colors that will go with it.

Thank you SH! Those really do help me visualize how each would look. Thanks also for everyone who posted picks, I have a hard time visualizing things, which is why I'm having this current problem. I also agree with the person who mentioned the lighter colors not looking as good for as long as the darks. So many I've looked at that are lighter have dark streaking going on. I'd like to avoid that if possible. Dh says we should go more brown, but I like how the blacks bring out the grey tones in the stone. However, I do love the first mock up! I guess I need to decide which "look" I'm going for. I just don't know! I'm wanting an old world feel to it for sure. I was thinking the black walnut would be a good way to stay dark but still get the brown tones. But with that first mock up, it really says "old world" more than the black, doesn't it? I also was concerned about the roof looking busy, like it would compete with the stone in some way. Oh and the whole house will be done in the stone, if that helps. Here is another picture of the house with the stone on it and a black roof. These are the type of shingles we'll most likely be using, do you see any browns there that would work? She's probably been looking at those godawful "hand scraped" prefinished floors. (Obviously done by someone who has no clue how to use a scraper to make a proper flat, smooth surface!) Yes, woods like red oak will have open grain and look and feel "rough" unless the finisher fills the grain prior to applying finish coats. Yes, finish is what you feel at the end of the process, so both the kind of finish and the skill and care with which it's applied make a difference. If you don't thoroughly clean up after sanding you will definitely have "texture"! As above, a separate grain filling step for open grained woods during finishing makes for a much smoother floor. Number of coats and the amount of sanding between coats also matters. Skill and experience of the installer makes the biggest difference in the outcome. Prefinished flooring will always be a little uneven, with evident joints between boards. You can know what the finish will be like in the showroom, it varies from product to product. Site finished flooring can be perfectly flat and smooth, though it won't stay that way as the wood moves with seasonal changes in humidity. The wider the boards the greater the changes in width that you are likely to see through the year.

I just used Sherman Williams blues on a similar kitchen & everything popped. I had Quartz white speckled counters, however. Blue selected was Stream, but consider Liquid Blue, & Sleepy Blue

Few suggestions. I'd remove the shutters. I think they are too thin and don't add much w/the brick. Black and crisp white, portico over the front door If you wanted to try a bright white trim and deep black shutters, maybe, but I'd prob lose them altogether You mentioned Urbane Bronze. here's what that would look like w/tthe brick, somewhat, and a darker trim color or use the creamy white for the trim. your current white trim is too yellow looking. have you considered painting the brick w/Romabio? IT's a natural lime product. if you did that, removed the shutters, and painted your front door this light blue, it would look like this they used the Masonry Flat for this brick. I love the copper awning over the front door too. Here's the back and the colors used. (this Masonrty flat can be tinted any color) if you like the limewas look, Romabio Classico would be the option. (try it out. it will hose off in the first 72 hours if you don't like it. try a sample on the side or back) wood front door, limewash, and darker shutters. also new black exterior lights and gutters I really like the look of this one too. paint the trim around the windows in the urbane or the iron ore, and limewas the brick much more distresssed with olive green shutters Limewash, distressed brick w/Taupe and copper color accenting. off white trim color the masonry choice. heavier coverage. black accents similar home style. they did the brick w/the gray, and added a covered porch.

Cream with forest green trim would look great. The landscaping looks uninspired, but if this is a winter pic, it might look better now.

I think you are just not used to a green roof, but mother nature is the master of color and uses deep green to complement every flower with their green leaves, and every landscape with the trees and grasses.

There is very little that doesn't work with green.

Paint the house white with soft green trim. This is the only picture I could find that has that retro cottage appearance.

If you want something a bit more formal, then a color scheme like the one below could work.

Decide on paint last. Budget is a priority, as you mention cedar shakes and a garage door and a decision should be made about modern farmhouse or cottage. Look at lots of inspiration pictures and you may want to get quotes. With either style, I would change the framing on porch, paint door a different color and replace shrubs with boxwoods.

Modern farmhouse: use vertical siding on garage, white house with black accents. not sure if it can be achieved.

Cottage would be more easily accomplished and add cedar shakes on garage.

You could pick a cream color or a beige color for a house and I did like that blue on that house and that one pic that was interesting but red and green together can look Christmassy

Agree with an off white would be nice with the roof. Just know off whites can really lighten up on the exterior to appear much more white.
