Beautiful!!

Here are pictures of the great room we want to paint white. The Travertine tile surrounding the kitchen island is being replaced by white moulding to match the wall trim.

Coffered ceilings will also be painted white. Extra White for trim, need help with wall color

Be sure to test white paint before committing to painting the walls. White usually needs lots of light to look good, and you said your rooms are dark. You might be better off with a light color. is there a color in your backsplash or rugs, furnishings, etc. that you can try?

IMO use the same white as the trim only matte make it easy . If a room is dark you need lighting all the white walls in the world will not help really. I like a very light grayed green for a neutral instead of mixing whites which BTW can be tricky to get right.I use this cut 50% with white trim it is very nice.

Ever pick out a white t shirt to wear with white shorts and find that one of the whites looks gray or yellowed or something other than white against the other white.

Mixing whites can be difficult is an understatement. Mixing whites and getting good results can damn near impossible unless you are a highly trained artist. Using one white with different sheens is recommended by every online color expert and most of the designers who post advice.

They will also universally tell you that painting white walls in a dark room does not add light.

Adding light to a dimly lit room is the only way to make it lighter.

White gets it's beauty by reflecting light, so you need light for white to look good.

If you don't have light, go with a color that can look pretty with less light.

Im in the process of painting my home. SW Pure White.

My home doesnt get alot of light and this white has a bit of warmth. White without being stark. When I sampled, it came across slightly gray, but I went with it anyways because I didnt want it looking yellow.

So glad I did! I think it looks great. The SW Extra White I sampled had a blue cast coming through. A bit cold in my space. I dont think it photographs as well as it looks in person. But, im not an instagrammer with doctored photos :)

Whites are tricky. Even after testing in my space (which *does* get a lot of light), I still felt like it was a gamble. I had cooler white backsplash, so I needed cooler white walls- and i like the end result. Here’s SW Origami (walls) and SW Snowbound (trim, ceiling), which is what I did throughout. I tried to find more shadowy, overcast day photos for your reference. Good luck.

Used SW Pure white recently with no regrets. Bathroom with no windows and very happy with it. We also have in our office at work with lots of natural light and it looks awesome. Just a nice clean not overly bright sterile looking white.

Whites are very tricky, for sure. I do know using Extra White for walls and trim (different sheens) can be beautiful in the right light.

Here's a nice combo; believed to be Navajo White walls and White Dove trim.

I love dove WhiteAnd the paint that's called if I remember white marshmallow something White Cloud I kind of forget and I'm currently in love with snowbound it has a creaminess to it warmth like sunlight but it's not yellow it's unlike an off-white paint

It looks like your floors and kitchen cabinets are warm woods, so be sure not to use a cool white. Have you looked at SW Alabaster or Greek Villa? BM White Dove looks slightly gray in some light. If you want to use BM, look at Simply White, Soft Chamois and Seashell. The last two may be too yellow in strong southern light, but they really brighten up a northern facing room.

Be sure to sample before committing to painting your whole first floor, and sample on multiple walls. Get the peel and stick samples from Samplize.com, or paint a board you can move from room to room. If you do the latter, paint two coats of the sample color as the second coat will look different than just one and will more closely resemble the color when painted on your walls.

Thank you everyone! I loved all your photos (so beautiful)! I was able to work with an interior decorator today. She came in and saw the lighting in the house, and we came up with SW Pure White for the walls (in Eggshell) and SW Extra White in Semi Gloss for Trim and Molding. UPDATE- Decided to take advice found here and we’re only going with SW Pure White in two different finishes (eggshell and satin). No chance of one color making the other look dingy. Thanks!!

Unfortunately there was no time to sample, but I did put up the large peel and stick samples and SW Pure White looked pretty without undertones. We move in soon and painters are getting started now. Thanks for your help everyone!
