This year has been sooooo rainy, though, and Charlotte is getting some BS. @zaphod42, thatâÂÂs good to know, itâÂÂs def a damp, wet spring/summer here! Good to know Ascot is doing well in this weather. @Diane, itâÂÂs funny, I saw zaphodâÂÂs post only after I posted mine, lol. But IâÂÂve been following it too for some good info! Funny we both talked about MW, too. @predfern, thanks for the info on CdM, it noticed that in the drawings VG had on itâÂÂs website for CdMâÂÂs habit. Do you know about the health or anything else? Are the suckers hard to control?

Personally, I'm always drawn to lighter colors. I need sunlight to be able to function ... Yes, those dark woods can look very dramatic and spectacular but spending hours daily in that environment would be a different matter for me. Nevertheless, the kitchens pictured here do work quite well even from my perspective because they are not ALL dark wood. Either the island or the cabinets have a lighter color. chinchette's kitchen can get away with all dark cabinets + dark flooring because the kitchen is open on 2 sides to the rest of the house and gets flooded with sunlight.

Ohhh...Flamingo and Alisande, I'm in big trouble! I have found the perfect color and texture match, in a red loveseat. It could completely disappear. LOL It's leather, but not the smooth, glossy leather. It's soft and "nubbly." Flamey, I originally bought the purple loveseat to go in the sage-green (Key Lime Pie) living room on base. The two colors are perfect together but it's the "wrong" purple to go with the "Lilac Vapor" sewing room. Even so, I had to use that particular shade of paint. So...the living room here is going to be KLP-sage too, and the purple loveseat will stay in its original spot. I'm going back to the furniture store today to see if I can borrow a cushion or something to play with the colors against these walls. I plan on using a large oriental-type carpet in here. Big enough to take care of noise, but I'll still have a lot of the floor showing. Harry has been floor-surfing ever since we removed the heavy paper. He runs down the hallway, braces himself, and s-l-i-d-e-s into each of the rooms. He's learned to keep his legs stiff and lean to "steer" his direction. He thinks it's great fun. We figure the soon he scratches the floors the better. Lydia, I'm considering a red-beige print, too. DH wants a mission-style dark wood and leather. That's nice, but it's not "me." I've not ruled that out either, since it is more his room than mine. And it means I'd get free reign in the livingroom!
