House paint help! Need suggestions on exterior or photoshop help!
Comments (15)she is having the exposed foundation covereed in stone Probably already knows not to do anything with paint color until the stone is done. After the stone is up, she might have a dozen new color directions to chase. :D Exterior isn't like interior. Interior you do not have to have every last stitch in place to fit a room with color. As long as the basics, permanent elements are in place you can work color. Exterior isn't near as malleable because Mr. Sunshine is so darn intense and direct outside. Get the foundation covered in stone and then take another look. I'm thinking, with the stone in place, she should consider going light and neutral on the body or commit big and go with a dark, punchy color scheme with some drama. Safe midtones could add up to just a mediore color outcome for that house. A really cute house, btw....See MoreNeed Suggestions To Help Dog Who Needs Surgery
Comments (21)I do have some good news. Even though we were not able to raise all the money needed for surgery the dog has received some therapy and drum roll please.......just got word this morning that during water therapy all four legs moved. So even though the dog is not able to run around like normal it does have some movement. So everyone is very hopeful. But I was told once by a vet that once your dog shows signs of disc disease then be prepared because at some point it will have to have surgery. I can't speak for the vet of this person's dog, but I would assume they are saying the same thing. I haven't talked to the owner regarding this. But it is great news. And just because a dog goes down in their back is no reason to put them to sleep. This person's vet told them that was their option. There is always the carts or "doggie wheelchairs" as I sometimes call them. Dogs using these carts run around and play and have a good time. I can't understand why vets do not give that as an option. And people can get the plans on the internet and build their own, if the can't afford to buy one. Thank you all for being concerned and for your suggestions....See MoreHelp, need flooring suggestions!
Comments (11)The inspiration photo has very little "yellow" from the wood. The wood would be classified as "champagne" or even a silvered champagne. Your wood is a stronger yellow. The more GOLD/yellow a wood contains the HARDER it is to get it to work with gray. Notice the photo shows BLUE/GRAY tiles. Not gray. They are much closer to a SLATE BLUE rather than gray. Thankfully your yellow/natural cabinets will look good with slate blue. The darker gray you show isn't blue enough. It needs to be a snick stronger. But.....(there's always a but isn't there) your BACK SPLASH is preventing the use of blue. If you wanted blue on the floor, you would have put blue as an accent somewhere. I LOVE your back splash (just to be clear)! I think it is stunning. So why erase the beauty of that item by using a colour that doesn't have a natural place in your bathroom. I can see you are trying REALLY HARD to put in the "almost-out-of-fashion" gray. I would say "Ignore the almost-dead-trend". Your bathroom is handsome with the colours already chosen. Why fight it? Go with what works for the space, not what trend that is now passing into passe. Your space is telling you to keep up with a pale beige/travertine look. That is FINE. It is RIGHT ON TREND! Don't fight it. And yes...gray is on its death bed....See MoreHelp! Need flooring suggestions
Comments (3)What surfaces are staying and which one's are on the chopping block. You have asked to 'pull it all together' but I'm not sure what that means. Do you want ALL the same flooring throughout the home? Are you only removing carpet and laminate? Beverly has a lovely option if you want darker, more dramatic flooring. Personally I would replace the carpet with a like-coloured wood. If you look in Beverly's photo, there is a VERY pale option called "White Sand". It would be your 'very light' floor option. There might be a 'clash of whites' in the kitchen...but that is easily fixed when you change out/update the kitchen. And that is my next question: when are you looking at updating the counter tops? I can see some tiles/grout lines on the counter tops...which leads me to believe this is a tiled counter top. I'm also seeing some exposed hinges (nicely hidden with hardware/paint choices) but these two things point to a kitchen that probably is looking at an update sometime in the near future (next 7 years or so). Please do NOT change the flooring until you have a FULL understanding of your kitchen renovation/refresh plans. If you MUST have the wood flooring NOW and not wait until you have a full plan in hand (take two weeks to figure out your vision for the whole home over the next 7 years) then I HIGHLY recommend you purchase enough wood to cover the ENTIRE HOME. You can put the remainder in storage and then pull it out as you renovate each space as it comes. There is NOTHING WORSE than putting in new flooring and then realizing that your kitchen renovation means changing the foot print...and you have RUN OUT of flooring. Or that you really want to get rid of the tile now that you have wood floors, but you can't find more of the wood anywhere! And boy are you mad that NO ONE told you that factory finished floors only have a shelf-life of 18 months...and then they are gone for good! Please believe me. We on Houzz see this on a daily basis. Sometimes hourly. Please take the time to plan your vision for your WHOLE HOME before you remove/replace things piece meal....See Morerberesh73
