What exterior paint colours should we do

last year

Hi, we are looking at painting the garage door and bump out from the old and tired brown to another colour. We have a multi brick colour and was maybe considering a lighter paint or to go darker, grey or different brown. You will see the windows are brown frames. I found Benjamin Moore Richmond Bisque or some Grey's like Chelsea Grey. Any recommendations or ideas? Pics in comments.

I would not use gray. It does not look good with the brown roof, and the brown trim. Pick a shade of brown from the brick, that looks good with the trim color. A lighter color may be your best choice. Dont forget the garage door, beause, that doesnt go well with the house right now either. You have a very cute house. Love the door color.

I think shutters will clutter the beautiful front, plus, there appears to be only about one window in which sutters will fit. Instead, add pots of flowers, some porch furniture, and more varies landsape to add charm to the house.

The dilemma you have is how to stay somewhat true to the style of the exterior of the home, while finding your happy place with Nordic look. With your brick, I think some form of blue with white trim would achieve that sweet spot. This is a blue/gray with close to your brick. this is a good combination. They used black on the windows which I think looks very classic. By keeping the exterior to two paint colors you will minimize the "Gingerbread" look. That is the trick here. What a great home and I am so happy you are taking care of a great old home! Love that.

I would remove both the cabinet and, most definitely, the upper ones, The vignette looks like a fish out of water. Paint the mantel and surround black.

You'll have to sample because you have beige and gray in the floor and it's difficult to tell from a picture on a monitor exactly what will work, but I suggest you look at BM Edgecomb Gray. SW Accessible Beige is close to EG. But I think you might be better off with a lighter color for a hallway, so look at BM Soft Chamois too. But while you say you're looking for a neutral I encourage you to look at blues or greens which would be more interesting - maybe in the treatment rooms.

Hard to advise because, on my monitor, I see different colors in each photo.

My idea would be to find a color in the bricks you like and paint the clapboard around the window in it and do the garage door the same. If you go neutral, then the pretty window trim color shows. I see pink undertone, just as I see pink undertone in the roof.

Going with the lightest brick that I see.

I agree it can be hard through pictures. The under tone is actually brown.

How about this, on the clapboard and garage door.

Linen White....it should look something like this on an exterior. I'm trying to find a white with yellow undertones.

No. It is more of a brown colour with grey/black undertone. It is a deeper colour similar to chocolate velvet from Benjamin moore but darker. It was on the house when we bought and no left over paint for exact colour.

How about B.M. Swiss Coffee for clapboard and garage door? And B.M Cloudy Sky for the front door?
