Exterior paint color for stucco house with brick
Hi all,
I am getting a new roof due to hail damage, and am taking the opportunity to change the color of my house. My house is a small stucco 1.5 story with some red/brown brick accents on the front, and a brick chimney. I do not want to paint the brick. Although the photo below doesn't show it well, the stucco is currently a light peach.
I welcome any suggestions on an exterior paint color and roof color! I am not afraid of color, and would rather not have a white or cream house. I was thinking I'd get "pewter gray" shingles, but am open to ideas! (Shingles will come from this line: https://www.gaf.com/en-us/roofing-products/residential-roofing-products/shingles/timberline/architectural/timberline-hdz).

With the different elements going on, different materials, I’d choose a color from the bricks for a cohesive and balanced look. I can’t see close enough to say, but maybe one of the darker bricks.
I also love this blue-ish look, if you’d like something besides gray, brown, or black. A Tudor, but gives an idea of colors:

Comments (5)there are several stucco systems available today. a couple of the more popular are EIFS type system and a traditional 3 coat. i think the first thing you need to explain is how your home will be constructed? A home that was constructed using standard stick framing and OSB seathing would be pretty a traditional method. if that is the case then you can more than likley use either system i listed above. both will require the application of craft paper or tar paper etc to create a barrier between the finish coat and the wood structure of the home. Todays stucco typically has an acrylic topcoat as the final finish, this will have the pigment and sand included to give your stucco the trowl finish you choose. IMHO in my climate (denver co) i do not like traditional 3 coat stucco finishes. the 3 coat systems dry and crack out over time, even with the use of control joints. if i had to use stucco in my climate i would use a EIFS system with the proper drainage protection between the foam and the home. EIFS got a bad rap in the begining because they thought it was a barrier type finish and never anticipated the leaks around window frames etc....See Moreexterior stucco paint color for house with tile roof built in 1980
Comments (8)It could be many colors with your roof. The only color I would not use is cool gray. I would like it in a brighter shade of white and paint the wood sections the same color as the stucco.
