What's "creamy" to one is yellow or tan to another! Or even too white! I wish I could suggest a specific color but I really can't. Even though I probably have about 200 different chips of varying degrees of "off-white". I'm not familiar with the wall colors you have except I strongly considered Laura Ashley gold 2 for my bedroom. I recall that it is a complex, muted yellow/tan with green undertone. A really beautiful color. I assume that gold 4 is the same but deeper. I was amazed to see how a trim color can bring out the undertone in the wall or play it down; make the gold look either very green or more yellow or even dirty. So focus first on what undertones you need in your trim color. You already know you don't want blue, gray, pink/peach. You need some yellow but there are so many degrees of it. Take your wall paint chips to the color displays and hold them up--you will easily see which groupings of tones/shades don't work and you will be able to narrow down to the right family pretty easily. Wish I'd done that early on! You might also try taking your paint chips to Home Depot to use their scanner that will analyze your color & suggest coordinating colors from their line. That can at least get you started & when you start to see which tones are appealing to you the most when paired with your walls, you can take those chips with you to Lowes or elsewhere to look for the "just right" selection. Also, if you find a paint chip that has just the right tones but is just too light/white, (or the opposite, like if you wanted to use gold 4 but a lighter version of it) you can ask them to mix it with 150-200% of the colorant. Or cut it in half. I've done this with good success. All that said, I've just done the upstairs hall trim in Behr Navajo White, which to my eye when looked at alone is a creamy, muted yellow-- but looks great (and not yellow) with the several colors it needed to play with. And it took me many visits to paint stores, and many chips on the walls, to settle on my choice, but I don't regret the time I took now. Neither will you! Good luck!

I went with a creamier white out of not wanting it to be too stark for my space. I agree with above posters saying you need to figure out what works in your particular light and space. NEW QUESTION THOUGH - this came up this week as the painters are starting and someone above mentioned trim. For trim and molding I am not sure. The trim or molding above the cabinets is already done and of course matches the cabinets. We will also have an area of built in bookcases in the adjoining family room also in the same off=white as the kitchen cabs. We are painting the trim which is now honeyed oak. Should we match the trim to the rest of the house which is a different white than the new cabinets or to the cabinets (which is a little greyer than the house trim, neither really white white but creamy in different ways)? These rooms are set off from the others, i.e., their molding will not touch or meet EXCEPT for two doorways. I think I had decided with the painter to go with the trim color of the rest of the house - and by trim I mean windows and crown molding, with the exception of the crown above all cabinets (kitched and fam room) and also the two windows right in the kitchen smack between the cabinets. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Don't mean to hijack the post and perhaps I'll need to post independently??

@donna Hennings I’m leaning toward aesthetic white. What color did you use for trim paint? I’ve got to pain trim, cabinets and doors. I’m leaning toward alabaster for that. It’s not alot of contrast. I don’t want to go darker or on walls. But also can’t go whiter on cabinets as kitchen has the brown/beige/cream/gold granite and a lighter travertine backsplash. Plus of course travertine on kitchen floors (living room has dark walnut hardwoods)

A creamy white is usually thought of as warm or yellow-tinged. Is that what you're envisioning when you say that? I can tell you about some of the whites you listed as I've a few of them on art canvases for testing. I recommend you get the idea of "the best white" out of your head though because whites can drive us loony in no time. There are so many (especially with Ben Moore) and once you start seeing the nuances between each, they're easy to overthink. There's no such thing as a "best" white for all situations. Are there any white fixed elements in your home that can guide you? Kitchen cabinet or counter, fireplace hearth or stone, etc? What are your furnishings? I have Chantilly Lace in my office (trim and walls, different sheens). It's a true bright white, can turn a tinge cool in a cool light. Light, as you probably know, is everything when looking at colours. Make sure the lighting in your new home is optimized for 'daylight' colour rendering. Otherwise, you might get annoyed that your wall colours aren't looking as they "should" when the lights are on. Your 3 trim and door options: Decorator's White is very much cool-toned. Cloud White is the most neutral of your three. (I'll be painting my hallway Cloud White. It's just a very soft white and neutral. Nothing jumps out at you when you place it next to a white sheet of paper (that's how you quickly gauge whites). Truly lovely but doesn't have the "heft" of Chantilly Lace, if that makes any sense.) White Dove: this is is a warm white that will look yellow or even dingy next to a sheet of white copier paper. There's a user here (Marylee?) who might chime in (if she hasn't already in the time I take to ramble) with the actual colour analysis of a few whites to show the difference in chroma. This can tell you if they pair well as trim and wall colours. Really depends on the type of contrast you're seeking. Hth a bit. :)
