Building a Home entry Design Dilemma

Front door style to go with interior

Hi! It's time to order a front door(s) for our home that is under construction. I think I'd like something with a bit of glass. Currently our building plans have the door at 8' tall plus a transom. The question is...if I want to use french glass doors going into our office from the entry what front door style will be complimentary? Thanks!

That elevation you're showing needs some editing work. Too much going on : ) and a bit somber as well. Not loving the peaks.......whats the material? I realize not what you asked.

French doors can be had in all glass.......no divided lights which solves the issue with any front door.

I have to agree a lot of peaks for no obvious purpose . As for the front door IMO it needs to go with the exterior and interior .IMO too many finishes on the exterior and french doors do not denote a specific style so maybe a bit more info as to your style.

I think its more important that the interior doors should match the interior style, than the exterior style (assuming your interior style is vastly different than the exterior). If its the doors I'm thinking, the interior door you like is a very contemporary/modern frosted slab door. Are the furnishings and finishes inside the house going to be on the modern side? The exterior door is very rustic/French Country/European, and goes very well with almost every other interior door on that page (the doors are mostly traditional), and works well with a traditional style interior, IMHO.

We recently painted our front door with sidelights and know what you're going through. What we did before painting was drive thru neighborhoods to see what others had done and that helped us decide what to do with ours. We noticed that some painted them all the same color but others painted them contrasting colors or matched the sidelights with the windows and painted the door a separate color to make it stand out. Where are the pocket doors? My thought would be to live dangerously, and paint the pocket doors an accent color like red or turquoise! But if that doesnÃ¯Â¿Â½t thrill you, certainly I would do them black for consistency.

Its absolutely fine to go with a different door style. A real colonial/early american 19th c. house often has different doorstyles throughout anyway, ranked on whether the room was "public" or "private", first floor or upper floors, or even by importance in the same room.

You really should get a door on order by the time you started pouring foundation, Triple gable looks stupid but it is in the eyes of the beholder. As far as the door - half glass / french is fine, we do not know the setting: [rural, suburbs], state, or where your "office" is in the plans to give you any sort of reasonable feedback.

Besides all the gables, the roof looks like a student exercise in roof types. 4 gables, 3 hips and a bonus shed roof. The roof over the RV garage is so goofy looking no one is going to notice what the front door looks like.
