Hi beverly27, thanks, oh I like the accenting tile on the bench and the floor, we just demo'd the shower door and realize we have two lights in the bathroom and a window which makes it very light, so now we are thinking of a darker tile as a choice, but not sure if we should put the same tile on floor as the shower. we plan on an expresso black vanity with a white sink, the bathroom is so small that the vanity can only be 24 inches in width. will post photos in a new thread as well.

Honestly, Carrara is a classic, beautiful stone, and if you are looking for an accent on a wall I tend to agree with Filipe's suggestion, which depicts a mosaic of similar stone but in a decorative pattern to compliment the Carrara. Creative's examples for floor accents are great, but on a shower wall I would lean towards a decorative mosaic that incorporates the Carrara. Won't bring color, but interest and texture. Don't detract from your beautiful stone with a blob of color. Sometimes less is best.

The idea of adding some visual interest is fine, but not with the design pattern you have. Your field tiles appear to be a warm beige-gray and the sparkly tiles are cool gray with little to tie them into the field tiles. The sparkly tiles have too much going on as well. I'd suggest adding a less busy tile. As others have pointed out, the bathroom tile border faze has pretty much petered out. If you do use a tile border be very careful and keep it as simple as possible.

I saw a shower where one entire wall was the fancy patterned tile and the other 3 walls were plain. I think it was posted by Beth H? Maybe she will post that again. It wasn't a strip, it was one of the end walls (skinnier) of a shower.
