Ok.. I know I have a lot of things going on in each photo.. so from what I think everyone is saying is: 1)Yes on the prep sink in island/across from fridge (ie option 2) 2)Yes on moving the main sink to the window (ie. option 2) 3)Move MW from above range (option 3) This is the tougher one for us... but let me make sure I understand your recommendation here. So it would just be a vent over the range without uppers? Or can you put the uppers to left and right? Or just uppers above refrig. to frame that out (it is cabinet depth). We are pretty limited on moving the fridge .. the table to the right of it is large, but may be able to come up with a spot for the MW with some more thinking... we weren't really crazy about the hood option as it seems expensive (ie. hood purchase, loss of storage from moving mw and loss of uppers). Is it the open look that everyone likes? Taking the uppers out does give a little flexibilty moving things a few inches- it was lining the 2 15" uppers with the window/range/fridge that kept the fridge and oven so close....

Sure, you can use a lav faucet on a kitchen sink. Most of the time the scale is too small to be really useful though.

Sorry, for the late reply. I just saw this. No, we've had so many other issues come up with the build that have required all my attention, I haven't had time to focus on this. I do plan to use 30"-36" sinks. I will let the final cabinet layout dictate the sink sizes, so long as we are in that range. If I have an extra 3" of wasted space, I'll go up in sink size, or if I need a few inches for the trash can, I'll go down a couple inches on the sink. The main thing I haven't decided on yet, is whether they'll both be apron sinks or one apron and one under mount. Or, one stainless steel and one fire clay/ceramic/etc? Oh boy, I guess I have a little more left to decide than I thought! I think lead time and prices will point in the right direction on material! LOL! @vevmom, if your island is 10' long, I think the 33" sink will work nicely. That is still less than 1/3 of your island. I think bbtrix's photos above are great for helping to visualize this. (Thanks again bbtrix!) That island is 8' long with a stages 45. You'll have 2 more feet of island, plus a smaller sink. Let me know what you decide.

What exactly are you going to use the prep sink for? Size really does matter with a prep sink depending on its function, and knowing how you’ll use it will help determine how big it should be. I have a prep sink fairly close to my range (so the range and prep sink are on the same counter run) because that is the way I work in the kitchen. In between the range and the prep sink is my main prep area....that is where all the work happens. I am so happy to have the sink there, but it is way too small. It’s a 16” sink, but those dimensions are NOT interior dimensions. The inside actually measures only 13”....so ridiculously small. So make sure you get a sink with INTERIOR dimensions that make sense for how you will use it. I would much prefer a prep sink with an interior measurement of 21” or so.....would be much more practical and useful. Also, I am always putting goopy utensils and small dirty measuring cups etc. in that sink. I do not want to hand wash those items, so what happens to all the dirty gloppy things in the prep sink that need to be put in the dishwasher? Unfortunately unless you have a dishwater very close to your prep sink, you are carrying those dishes/utensils across your floor and counters (dribbling all along the way) in order to put them into the dishwasher that is way over by your cleanup sink. So, my two VERY big regrets in my kitchen design that I am now living with every day is that my prep sink is WAY too small (wish I had gone bigger) and I truly wish I had put a dishwasher (even just a small 18” one or a single dishwasher drawer) next to my prep sink. This is something that bugs me every single day.
