Paint Home Decorating Design Dilemma

Paint color help!

Help! I am so stressed about the paint colors in my house. I have been planning on White Dove on all trim and ceilings. Since it is a "warmer" white, would it go with a "cool" gray? Looking at cool grays for our bedroom because I want some blue undertones, and we get north and east facing light. What about White Dove trim with Classic Gray walls in our living room?

A very popular white is BM Decorator White. I think it will pair well with your Classic Gray.

I just googled and it looks like White Dove is a good choice.

I'm not an expert but when choosing paint colors, I prefer contrast. I would get a few samples and paint some spots on the wall to see what works the best with your tile. If the tile leans more towards white I think a soft sage color would be pretty with the elements you've described, but if your tile leans towards a brown, it's hard to say. If you can post pictures, it would really help.

I've been looking at high end roofing tile websites and one of them has a color expert that made recommendations for house paint colors with their orange/brown roof tiles. Here is a link to some of the schemes they recommend that may give you some inspiration: https://www.davinciroofscapes.com/blog/exterior-color-schemes-autumn/ You can color match to Sherwin Williams brand paint.

First improve the lighting From that electrical you have in the ceiling you could run probably at least 10 LEDs in 4” pots all ove rht eceiling get them in $000k range then worry about wall color.

I’d head to BM and pull samples. Narrow down to 2 or 3 and purchase test pots plus one of WD and test at home. Your actual lighting can play a huge part and I’m sure WD can work with almost anything, but finding the grey shade that you like is the most important.

You don't want gray with north light, nor do you want blue. North light is gray and blue and you need to fight that cold feel with a paint that will stay true all day (as north light remains the same).

Try Excalibur Gray...I know I just told you not to use gray. This isn't gray and it is a winner for your room.
