Should french doors match?

I have a slider french door with five panels in white in my kitchen that leads to the back deck. Across from the kitchen is my pantry. I want to put in bypass french doors with frosted glass panels. Should I keep the frames consistent in color( white) or can I change it up a little bit to create contrast? Also, should it have five panels or three panels?

This is the existing slider/french door to our deck

This is the pantry door we want to replace. Either with a 3 or 5 panel door w/ frosted glass. And in espresso or white. We will be replacing the flooring next year as well as the carpet.

I think a different door is the right call or else you will end up with a boxed-in feeling if you match them

Stain on french doors not matched

the drips were definitely because i didn't wipe spots well enough in a few places. the process was applying a wood conditioner and waiting about 20 minutes and then wiping that off before applying the stain. Applied with a paint brush. It seemed to be fine except for this one spot on the door where it didn't seem to absorb into the wood very well, so it was a lot darker from the get-go. any advice on how to lighten that spot and clean up the drip marks a bit?

I think it is a personal decision. I would paint the screen door the same color as the solid door.

I see no reason why they should match. Your new interior doors are part of the interior decor.

What does catch my eye is a worry about door swing if you keep the table where it is and what type of door you choose, how it opens and shuts, more than how it coordinates with the sliders that give acces to the outdoors.

it wont doesnt swing..It is a sliding door(fake)..I thought of that also when we installed the sliding french doors. I originally wanted a swing type french door also. Eventually, next year, we are converting the living room to a dining room, extending deck and building out.

Use the same one with frosted panes. If oyu are planning a remodel next year, and everything incuding the flooring will be changed out, then it is best to keep uniformity in the elements that are the same.

Always remeber, you are not looking at the parts of the room in isolation. They make a whole.

If you decide not to extend and build next year, these will be a but of an eyesore. Anything you want should be the focus should be highlighted. So if the doors are to merge with the background and reduce the noise in the room to help you focus on the decor, keep it the same.

It should not look adhoc.

Gosh I would keep the 6 panel door you have now since it matches the door it is literally right next to, I would just replace the trim so it matches the other doors (why did the builder only put trim at the top?) Fine to have accent doors different but I think it will start looking like a door showroom with so many different doors.
