Unlimited budget? All the plumbing can move? How big is the window? First thought seal up the right door, turn the existing bath into a shower, vanity goes where hanging is, toilet goes where the small vanity in the closet is located (maybe you don't like seeing toilet first thing, to me its a bathroom...) Or do the reverse, the shower goes far left, current shower becomes a wc, vanity in the center

I think you still have room for a closet on the left. I don't know how big it would be, but you could always have a 24" deep closet opening into the hallway that would be an awesome linen closet. Depends on whether you want a toilet room or not. I had one in my last MB, but the room was big enough for it. Where I live now, we remodeled the MB last year and removed the wall and door separating the toilet and shower from the vanity and tub to make the room more open. If you do a toilet room it would be at the far left of the bathroom. Otherwise I agree with what Hallett said.

This is a tough space to do what you want. Are you open to the vanity going in the current closet /being open to the bedroom ... kinda 1980s style? If so, you could keep the shower and toilet in the current area /remove the sink in that small space.

Here’s a quick idea. Seems like a bit of wasted space and not perfect but an idea to get you thinking. What we used to do is draw it out on a grid and move cabinetry and other items around the room till something worked since we didn’t have software.

9' 8" cannot support a shower and duplicate sinks.

3' 4" isn't wide enough to turn the toilet sideways ... it needs to turn 90 degrees. Also, eliminate the door to the toilet, or bring it forward to meet the edge of the vanity.

Thank you all for your input! I know the space isn’t ideal, but we are trying not to take space from the master bedroom if possible to avoid it being long and narrow (and so as not to tear up existing hardwood floors). You all have given some ideas I hadn’t thought of yet. Thank you!

Sometimes it goes to brutal truth. There was never anything good in this set up.There won't be a significant improvement, unless you get over the sharing/togetherness aspect !! . I'd steal a foot, who cares, you're sleeping. Add a pocket door, .......and get a decent CLOSET.......seemingly LOST IN ALL THE ABOVE CONCEPTS

OTHERWISE? Take bedroom two and get a real primary/owners suite, and give bed four an en suite bath.

The house is a sixties/ seventies concept with too much..... stuffed in a too small footprint.

Go big, or stay home : ) as the existing set up would never satisfy a future owner in any scenario.......and leaves you with MEH?

Or the" kaching" route.The one where you bring in the pro designer and a contractor that pro designer recommends. . Where it is certainly possible to have whatever you want if that is tub, no tub.......etc and nine feet of vanity guaranteed.

We are already planning to do away with bedroom 2 and turn it into a walk in closet and small office for my husband. We aren’t worried about appealing to future owners. This is the home my husband grew up in (built in the mid 1980s) and the land has been in his family since the Civil War. Several family members live all around. We don’t have intentions of selling. We inherited the house when his father passed away. I’m trying to figure out a way to make it a little more usable with the least amount of super-drastic change. (We have updates and small changes to do throughout the home.) I don’t like tubs, so a shower is all I want. And I don’t need/want a huge bathroom—I feel like using bedroom 2 for all bathroom would be more lavish/wasteful than meets my taste. Thanks again for the input, though!

: ) ALL the info in the original post is always helpful ! lol And a double sink concept is best ABANDONED in your scenario. A minimum 72" is best, and you don't have it. Just because you see them on fewer inches ? Does not make it great. It isn't. For that? You need bed two : ). Frankly, two people together in your bath footprint? You're tiny, I assume.....or suffer NOT from claustrophobia.
